Actually he made three series - the last one was called "Bob" from 1992-1993 - they filmed 25 episodes for the first season and pulled the plug on the third season after 5 episodes had aired with a total of 8 in the can - with the last three episodes eventually premiering on TV Land many years later.

Bob is amazing on his delivery. Pure funny! a natural comedic genius and hilarious to watch

Actually, Bob had about three or four different shows, the first one when I was in highschool in 1961 was a variety hour with him doing telephone sketches. There were others after the Vermont ski lodge show where this most hilarious sketch took place. You'd have to Google them to know what they were and why they didn't quite make it.

That was really funny! That "prehistoric dinosaurs" line came out of nowhere. Grade A comedy.

I am so glad that I clicked on this. I'd forgotten how brilliant Bob Hart was! I love how I was so sucked in by the "author"'s radio voice that I almost choked at the gag line.

At the risk of sounding realistic, I think Llyod Menninger was tripping balls in his basement before the interview.

I hope this Original type comic gets to be 100 in good health. The passing of his wife this past April must be ever so hard. His best friend Don Rickles passed recently. I got all their books and are great reads. Rickles and Newhart. Can you imagine?? Magic.

And Newhart was a Catholic...Had to have one great sense of humor..with Rickles as a close friend. Poor Ginnie at a party I must say..

Absolute comic genius! The audience laughter was always so great on this show, canned or not. It really adds so much to the hilarity.

This clip (still hillarious) is clearly from another time. It plays differently now than it once did because it has something to teach us about the nature of reality and of perception.

Newhart & Jack Benny could crack up an audience with their facial expressions alone - superb timing, priceless funny stuff!

There is nobody who could make looking uncomfortable, as hilarious as Bob Newhart. My God, what a funny guy. His albums are also brilliant, he can convey just by sound what you see onscreen as well.

Thanks for this comment. I was oblivious to him having albums. I blew my old ladies mind last week when I put on an old Steve Martin album I have.

This is one of my favorite scenes from Newhart ! Priceless, quintessential Bob- written by writers who knew exactly which vein to tap into; and they knew the comedian & his audience in order to make this work as well as it did !!😜

It must have been near impossible for these two not to laugh with the audience laughing so hard. The Colonel almost loses it when he shows his photo, but get's himself under control again real quick.
