The American political scientist Norman Finkelstein is one of the world’s leading scholars of the Israel-Palestine conflict. His parents survived the Holocaust. His father in Auschwitz and his mother in the Warsaw Ghetto. In 2000 Finkelstein wrote the famous book "The Holocaust Industry". It sheds light on how the memory of the Holocaust is used to make money, gain political advantage and as a shield to deflect criticism or scrutiny. The Israeli government barred him from entry to the country for ten years in 2008. He was denied tenure at DePaul University in Chicago in 2007.

This is the guy you are rooting for 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 (41:25 - 42:15) he argues Germany still to be authoritarain and without a deeply rooted democratic culture because of "how easy" it is for them to "suppress all of the dissent". (45:15 - 46:28) he calls Germany's support of Ukraine "despicable" and says he will spit in Scholz's face if he sees him. Germany owes Russia (and of course only Russia, not Ukraine, Poland, Belarus, the Baltics,..) an eternal dept which appearantly means Russia has the right to invade

He is the only person whose cynicism I like. I love his passive aggressive energy, which comes from a deep contempt for injustice. When he talked about the german tanks in Ukraine and how he hopes they will burn, I heard such enormous contempt for the Nazis that explains why he is who he is. He is a child of Auschwitz survivors who refuses to change from victim to perpetrator. He deserves great respect for that. Although he has his own views, he allows every person to have their own view of life. He is the calmest choleric and the most tolerant intolerant. Just a cool guy.

Man what an interview. As an young woman trying to navigate the world, Dr. Finkelstein is someone I will look upto. He is full of wisdom, humility, and patience and immensely intelligent. You sir are a blessing to me and to all of us who are striving for Justice. Thank you Liebe Herr Chaudhary for this amazing interview. I’ve seen so many of Dr. Finkelsteins interviews but this one feels very raw and intimate and touching. Almost to tears. More blessings to Dr.Finkelstein and more power to you dear Sir. LG from this shame of an authoritarian and repressive country, Deutschland. Suffocating to live here as a person who wants to speak against the genocide.

I find his calling of Head of EU Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, a Nazi princess utterly shameful. He calls her a princess because she has German roots with von der Leyen as her family name and a Nazi because of her physical traits of being a thin figure, blonde haired and blue eyed with a preference to wearing neatly crisp clothes. Imagine yourself as a woman being criticized for your looks and physical traits and not because of you policies or beliefs. I have lived in Germany and I have seen how they have accommodated nearly 1 million immigrants from Syria. I do not see the people of that country as authoritarian or repressive. They have paid their reparations to the Jewish people and the children there can grow up be free of guilt.

This man has been so criticized over the years, especially in the US, in academic or media circles. And there he is now, being listened to like never before. Too bad people had to wait for the world to prove him right in order to listen to him.

GOD BLESS YOU MR. FINKLESTEIN from Dana Ron in Australia. Your parents would have been very proud of their son who is a remarkable human being and a great scholar. You are a shining example to the young generation of today & you posses the exact human and humane qualities that I hope my History teacher son has. THERE WILL BE A RECOGNISED PALESTINIAN STATE in our lifetime .. it is coming soon and no one can derail this event now. ✌️🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸

The last question made me cry. I am not palestinian but I will remember Prof. Finklestine forever very fondly, as a very compassionate, resilient soul. I would pray for him that God grants him heaven despite his non-belief in him. I would wish that good deeds and such sweet soft soul will not go unrecognized.

You will never know how impactful your words are. May we all be employed by life.... Not man-made atrophying structures like job & infrastructure. Man's creations that go to chaos, disorder whereas nature naturally goes into effortless order like a tree growing from a seed...our job is to help nature not dominate it.

Oh I love you Professor Finklestein. You changed my life when you came to UC Davis in 2008. You completely changed my views of everything and struck a very deep chord in my heart, so that not only my views changed, but my values. All of this in the space of an hour. I've been walking the path ever since.

I’ve been listening to and learning from Dr. Finkelstein for many years. He is such a brilliant, caring, honourable, ethical, and honest person. This is one of my favourite interviews! I related so deeply to what he said and was brought to tears during some parts of it. I could sense the melancholia tinged within his observations, and quite frankly, I think it’s difficult to live in this world today without feeling saddened very often. Thank you for keeping it real, Professor (as always) 💜 I feel less alone listening to you.
