Nonsense response why would I not ask for an extra pay?

I used to work from 8.30am to 9 in the evening and was underpaid. No overtime was given. I would never signup for such a job again... 😵‍💫 Before resigning I talked to the management constantly as a result of which more people got hired and work was balanced. Not all overtime jobs will prove your dedication!!

Why would I lie when I’m Not okay with extended working hours?

As an HR professional, I would strongly recommend not to blindly say yes to such questions. It is okay to be curious about these things, it's human nature. Saying yes without question may sound like you are agreeing just to get the job. Also, when you simply say yes, and decline to adhere to it later, the company can use it against you as an ammunition during tough times.

Your answer holds true when one is being hired for a new company Once a candidate is in the company the answer obviously changes to pay and it should. Manipulation is the key which gets you through I guess then 😊

I plan my work and finish in right time, however as per requirements, I m flexible to work with limited over time and few days a month. In USA, that would be apt response. In India, you're always expected to work late without pay.

There's always a "good reason" for it according to an employer, so agreeing to it would be like saying Yes, I'm willing to be a pushover as often as needed (which is probably 4 days out of 5 in a week, if not all 5). My reply would be, I take complete ownership for my work, so Yes, I definitely would when I need to, taking account of my personal priorities and what my deadline is like.

So basically say yes in a fancy way. Noted.

If a company asks you this that means surely they are lacking resources to work and will make you do overtime surely. I used to work for one of the big4 and the work sucks never make this mistake of accepting anything I was a fresh graduate and they had asked I said I am ok working if something comes up but let me tell you these firms seriously i had worked for more than 18-20 hours a day too that too for a prolonged period of time. Now i regularly suffer back pain and neck pain too I visit chiropractor for some relief but i guess now what i am spending on that and my health i tossed isnt even worth 😢

If this has to work, it will only work for freshers who are looking for an opportunity to start their careers. For experienced folks, it is hell important to ask for additional allowance for overtime. No one is a machine.

Nobody cares for a perfect answer. Just to be honest in correct english will be enough. One should not work overtime and this will lead to toxic work culture. Everyone is committed to their work but just to show you polished yourself in the interview will be problematic later.
