We interview our good friend Kaori about Awa Odori. Kaori started dancing Awa Odori earlier this year and this is her first summer performing. She explains what the dance is all about, how Awa Odori festivals work, her firsthand experience of practicing and performing, and how you can get involved too!
The Koenji Awa Odori Festival is held in Koenji, Tokyo, on the last Saturday and Sunday in August.

It's so nice to see fun-loving Japanese having a great time putting aside their daily grinds. Ladies dance are so graceful and some costumes are so beautiful. I like the one held on narrower street. Because dancers and spectaters get so excited, they wound up dancing together.
