At this point, Lestat has been a vampire for almost 200 years, so he's going to be detached from humanity. I think this is why he has a hard time understanding why Louis is still so attached to humanity.

This episode encapsulates the complexity of the relationship, they are in love but at the same time on completely different pages, Lestat saw in Louis someone who suffered so much with humanity that he didn't expect it would be so difficult for him to embrace the new nature, Louis ends up being the most tragic of the vampires because he is the most human!

Hi Luke. Gumbo is a delicious dish. There are many varieties. Some are seafood based, some poultry and sausage. If you visit the USA, get some in New Orleans. I've had it many places but I have never had any beat what I found in New Orleans.😊

I love the subtle details of this show. Those paintings on the wall are from Marius. Marius is an ancient artist vampire from Venice.

Yep! Marius de Romanus. One of the few vampires Lestat actually respected and differed to. Not to mention having a significant history with a as of now unknown character on the show.

@@cullenarthur8879 I hope the show makes it far enough to introduce Marius. He is the creator of Armand after all. And if Marius gets introduced then Akasha and Enkil wouldn't be far after! So I really hope this show's fanbase keeps growing.

Thanks, Luke! 🧛‍♀ Alan Taylor directed this one. ෴ Remember, this rendition of 'Lestat' is painted through the filter of heartbreak felt by 'Louis'. In future books, you'll get to see Lestat's view of himself. Can you imagine him being more like Louis a century previous?

The servants weren't wearing masks to protect the vampire from COVID; they were protecting the sick old human man who is the vampire's guest. And hold on, Luke! Ep 1 you were complaining about Lestat killing humans, saying, "Why can't you just eat animals!?!" Now you freak out over Louis eating a fox. Haha make up your mind, dude! Lastly, you think Reporter Malloy & Manservant Rashid are interesting characters? You're soooo right!

We are still being socially condintion today, for some things are allowed, for other not so much. If we are able to be honest, but most will never have the guts to point out the ethnic injustice present today

My Mum used to pat me on the top of my head when I was growing up. I'd always complain spitting I AM NOT A DOG. I can hardly wait for the new season to start in May. Sam Reid who plays Lestat has been in quite a few things. I liked him in a historical movie called BELLE which was based on a true story. He also did a television show called NEWSREADER wher he plays quite a diiferent character shy and Introverted. It had two seasons.

@@lynettedevries1824 Even as a kid that kind of stuff leaves its mark. When I was a child and my stepdad got frustrated with me, he'd slap me on the back of the head. Which is probably why I get real defensive when people touch me or others without invitation. Sam Reid is killing it in this role! I enjoyed Tom Cruise as this character but Sam's version is so much better without the constraints of downplaying Lestat's sexuality. This version is so much more seductive. Never saw any of Sam Reid's other roles so thanks for the suggestions.

For a vampire Lestat is a perfect specimen, for a vampire Louis is a mistake!

That's one of the biggest differences between the two. The way Lestat explains it in the books, he decided that if he was going to be a vampire (since he never had a choice in the matter) he was going to be the best possible vampire he could be. Louie always fought his vampire nature and tried to retain some aspect of his humanity. One fully embraced his nature, the other continued to fight it.
