Charles Aznavour spoke fluent Armenian, the language of his parents, but he never learned to read or write it as he did not attend Armenian schools.

Aznavour, it's a turkish name, if the turks forced your father adopt this name you had enough time in France to change it, as a composer and singer you are one of the best in your category, you made your fortune in France but you'r on the run in Swisserland just to not pay your contribution, so you'r not a good French either, and now at the end of your life suddenly you became an Armmenian, it's so easy to become a benefactor with the easy money paid by the poor believers, and your % is ?.

hay1mart , That shows how little you know about the Armenian language and culture! Aznavour is a classical Armenian word meaning "nouble". His father's family was from Georgia where Armenian last names aren't usually based on Turkish words. His full last name is Aznavourian. He shortened it to Aznavour as his pen name when he became a singer-songwriter. Spreading one's ignorance is not a virtue! Check your facts before spreading them!
