While recording the 2004 documentary "UPPER LEFT" showcasing the creativity, impact and legacy of the Cranbrook Academy of Art artists' community in Washington state, the noted painter and alumni Gene Pizzulo passed away.
Gene was a University Of Washington art professor of painting, a revered artist, advisor, mentor and creative powerhouse. I was incredibly honored to have this private, extended video session with Gene.
This video interview was completed two weeks prior to his death. Gene Pizzuto is my hero and I can still feel his gentle hand on my shoulder.
