Disheartening to see such low views on something such as this gem. Hat's off to these minds who challenge the frontiers of science to make us better understand the world around us.

Wow. Kip Thorne is such a great professor. Extremely smart, yet humble, and he also does not take all credit, but underscores the importance of the collaborative efforts.

I read his book 'Blackholes and Timewarps' and was very inspiring since it explained his career and what great mind Mr Thorne has. It has been excellent to see him gain more recognition for all the work he has done.l

It’s amazing to see whether time is speaking to space or vice- versa through the mouth of a Nobel Laureate , who worked on black hole so vastly to make all of us proud of him ! Really, a Wizard of Human Vision for betterment of Humanity ! All thanks and tributes to his legacy for enjoyment of his life !

Such clear thinking as expressed by Kip Thorne comes from the hard work needed to be a top level physicist. What a great mind ….able to explain crazy concepts liked warped space time in a logical visual way just leaves me humbled. Thank you!

A bit after 12:45 - What’s your favourite piece of advice for students?: “Find your own way of working. My mind is much slower than most of my colleagues, and I discovered this when I was in University. I've struggled through my first year and a half as a student, but I developed my way of learning things. I reworked them in my own way and things like that allowed me to get results despite having a slow working mind. So I advise students to find their own way, to experiment to master knowledge and to find their own ways to succeed, because we are all different. We can all succeed in different ways.” Kip Thorne, 2017 Nobel Prize winner in Physics

I wanted to ask that what will be a good scientist or a genuine science teacher reaction if a 14 year old kid asks him that what is light ?? At the age 14 we all know that light is made up of particles known as quanta. Will that question be a crime ?? Or asking this question and getting a answer that is as simple as question requires a prerequisite requirement ??

Strange the Nobel committee has awarded the prize for physics based on the so-called BLACK HOLE . The existence of this object is based on a singularity, a region of infinite density -- lies at the heart of each black hole, according to general relativity, the modern theory of gravity. The infinite nature of singularities means that space and time as we know them cease to exist there. The very existence of a singularity, would violate every known laws of physics and yet they have awarded the prize to this non-resolved enigma. I can't help but to conclude that the scientific community has become an institute of consensus and not science.

On the theoretical level. But the mathematical & experimental (empirical) data has to make some sense. Maybe it's not always so clear.
