Doesn't need the overly loud dramatic music. His words are enough

The price of freedom comes at a high cost. Our Servicemen and women in WWII answered the Call and met it! God bless them all, and those that have gone on, may they rest in peace! Thank you very much for the interview with this brave Marine. It had to be tremendously hard for their Mother to see both of her boys going off to War at the same time.

Climbed up Bloody Nose ridge several years ago on stairs (but still not very quickly), and couldn't believe what those "Gyrines" must have faced back during WW II. The heat and humidity was completely horrific, and what I remember most was the often razor sharp coral rock almost everywhere you put your hands if not on the hand rails. You can still see that many of the defensive caves that were closed by whatever, but where deadly cross-fires must have been ever present. Pvt Sledge, of course, details what happened there in vivid detail, and this awful battle was definitely a preview of coming even bloodier engagements @ Iwo and Okinawa. IMHO, the Greatest Generation is not a hyperbole. This was brutal combat on a level of the worst of WW I trench fighting, and in that heat and stifling humidity, with no water fountains I saw, no tropical paradise then. Marines as brave as The 300. Still questions about whether this action was required to secure the PI??? but will leave that to mil historians. These days, with scars, now another beautiful Pacific isle, but during WW II, the last palm trees, blue skies and beaches many of our youngest warriors ever saw who will be forever be 18,19,20 ... RHIP.

The gentleman is hard enough to hear and understand. The loud music is not necessary.

After watching this video interview, anyone who still has doubts as to whether or not the U.S. should have dropped the A-Bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, can't be very intelligent!
