That's pretty neat. I wouldn't know exactly which part of Paraguay that would be but overall it's a very good place for farming.

There're actually several German colonies in different regions of the country. In the Chaco, an arid and dry area, almost a desert, looking like the Wild West of the US with cacti, etc., the Mennonites predominate; they are like the Amish but have adapted to modern things. They really developed the Chaco over the decades. Other regions where Germans settle are Independencia, in Eastern, hilly, and green Paraguay, and towards Encarnacion, e.g., Hohenau, Bella Vista, Obligado, in Southern Paraguay. Hohenau and surrounding towns were actually founded by German immigrants over 100 years ago. Having said all that, many Germans just Iive anywhere they like, such as areas near the capital, Asuncion where the best shopping, good restaurants, and entertainment are located, and in retirement communities such as San Bernardino, Aregua, etc., not too far from the capital,

@@jgonz260 Yes there are German as well as Mennonite colonies throughout. Its also becoming more common for some to leave the colonies and live outside in other areas.

Also all across Cordillera you may find German/Austrian/Swiss settlers now slowly spreading to Paraguari.

Yes, that is exactly how Paraguay works. It’s worth paying someone to get it done. We ended up doing that when my husband didn’t have the time anymore to try it ourselves.

I have so often longed to live several decades ago, Paraguay I would say comes pretty close but corruption can't quite be escaped by moving here.

What we have done so far is trading money with someone from Canada that has money in Paraguay. Obviously this is really only realistic if you have the connections to do that with. Transfer our money in Canada to them via etransfer to their Canadian account and they transfer money to our Paraguayan account that they have in Paraguay. One thing to remember is a lot of banks in Paraguay want proof of where this came from as well to avoid laundering. You’re so welcome.

Republicans hold strong family values most are God fearing believers that don’t believe in abortion or same sex marriage, if that’s your idea of far right then you are sadly mistaken.
