He is just so confident and waaaaay ahead of his time. Very wise and handsome as well. Unique personality that lit up the whole generation and generations to come

Thank-you so much for the video, I would have loved to meet Sal, but I was a baby when he was murdered.

He looks incredibly fresh faced here, 10 years younger I would say. 🙂😀

Why do people keep bringing up his death. Same with James Dean and Natalie Wood. How about we talk about and celebrate their lives.

People are just attracted to the dark side of things. Obsessed with death and the circumstances surrounding it. Why do people watch Dateline? They don't know the victims or the families. Or Forensic Files. I just call them "murder shows", and I have no desire to watch them. It's kind of twisted. So, I agree.

Great interview. Mr. Hopkins, I would find it interesting if you filled out some bio info on yourself. I'm pretty sure there's an ABOUT section where you can add that info. I'd be interested in how you came to interview Mr. Mineo and general professional information about yourself. Thanks so much.

I always thought Ralph Macchio looked like Sal Mineo. Man, he REALLY does in this interview. I'm surprised they didn't do a movie about Sal Mineo...Ralph would've been the perfect choice for the role

It’s eerie hearing Sal speak of prison reform when he would be murdered just shortly after this interview by a thug who had a long history of criminal offences.

If anyone really wants to think about it, Sal Mineo was only 5 6" and probably 130lbs. Not exactly a tough guy. He had no street smarts when he died. He was renting an apartment which means he did not have much money or much of a Hollywood career after the 60s. The 60s were being dominated by Sean Connery Steve McQueen and Rock Hudson. Parts for him dried because he couldn't compete with the tough guys. I remember he got to close to an ape and got choked to death.
