Scandinavian TV is quite realistic, both reality and otherwise, you behave as you do in real life. That's why Skam is so good and realistic, quite different from American teen shows, where the actors are adults etc. lol

Skavlan show is a window into their minds and personality and the host asks some serious and critical questions so it can seem a little serious, we also have comedy chat shows like tonight with Ylvis ( the guys who made the song The Fox)

I believe Skam paints a realistic portrait of youth culture in the southern, urban areas such as Stockholm and Oslo. As someone who've lived in and have relatives in Stockholm as well as rural Northen Sweden, I can vouch for the massive difference in culture between the two (other than the national holidays of course). The larger urban areas are more snobbish, competitive and "judging"/comparing, people are more sociable, socially skilled and have larger circles of friends. These ingredients cook _drama_ In Northen Swedish small towns or rural areas, people rather avoid drama and they talk less, and anyone talking too much or too much about themselves are promptly told to shut up. Teenage girls and guys have a "trashier" look and designer clothes are usually frowned upon, or would result in mockery. Also, the stereotype "douche with style" like William wouldn't exactly be popular in high school.

i used to watch a teen series called 'hormones' from thailand and i think it's quite good :) (i am from the philippines tho)

Check out Blank and Lovleg. Both are norwegian shows that have something of the SKAM-feel to them. I have to admit I don't know whether you can find them with eng/fra subs, but they are quite good.

Thank you for the explanation! I guess I'm wondering if it's perhaps a cultural difference. For example, in America even very young children who are living normal lives but who are on TV or in films are occasionally interviewed. Especially if they're a part of something as hugely popular as Skam. I guess I found the word choice, "shielded" from media, to be interesting. As if the creators and producers are intentionally keeping the actors away from the media for a certain reason (perhaps that reason is so that the actors can lead as normal lives as possible. Perhaps it's to keep the integrity and realism of the show intact. Perhaps it's for a difference reason.). But I completely respect the fact that these actors are able to lead everyday lives! And I applaud them for being a part of such an amazing show. They're so incredibly talented.

Pace Marshall It is a cultural difference. In Scandinavia celebrities are just regular people. And they're rarely ever approached on the street for example. They live normal lives. Not anything like Hollywood. :)

Well main thing is also that Amerian tv shows who act teenagers in real life are like in there deep 20 but here they actually are 16-20 so they go to school and have normal lives.

She was brought to the police, and they asked her about every places that she has lived, where she has gone to school etc. They told her to get her legal guardians, but there\s no legal guardians when someones over 18 xD They didn't believe her when she said she was famous c'x

She was not brought to the police, but talked to them by the use of a phone. She didn't say she was famous, but said that she's playing in a tv series in order to explain she's not really Noora. Legal guardians never come up, at least not in this video. You should be more careful when writing about things you have no clues.
