There's a scene in e2 where Lucy enters an abandoned house and finds the remains of a family sitting around the kitchen with a bottle of "Plan D" on the table. It's a perfect little moment of environmental storytelling that you'd come across while exploring in any of the games, and it's obvious that Howard and his crew had done their homework. Much respect!

I just went on a binge of like, 10 different newer interviews about the show, this one was the best one yet. This man gave so much insight about how it was made, his though process, and the topics were what I wanted to hear. Good job. I hope you interview more people from the series production to get more we havent heard before

Great interview by Rhiannon, not interrupting to try and get her point of view across, but allowing Howard’s passion to speak for itself.

Out of all the interviews I've watched this week, this has been my favorite. Howard is very charming and won me over talking about falling asleep to lore videos lol, he's really one of us. Great interviewer too, Rhiannon really knows how to let the guest have the room to really answer some pretty important questions in depth.

I would love to have asked him (and I havent seen a single mention of this in all the reviews) about the parallels in the first opisode to the movie The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. there was an obvious homage there that seems to have slipped past younger viewers. Unless I am totally crazy.
@obscure.reference
@obscure.reference 3 ай бұрын
i dont see the parallel beyond the ghoul himself, care to elaborate? maybe some slight stuff with the trio going to dig up a grave at the end, but that seems like a stretch. is there something similar with a chicken in that movie? the score definitely uses some similar sounds for that last scene.

@@obscure.reference I am sure the name cards in the first episode were ripped straight from TGTBTU - LUCY (the good), MAXIMUS (the bad) THE GHOUL (the ugly), the desert wasteland, and other beats. I just watched your other video on "the people behind" and the woman actually states "We are all huge fans of the Good the Bad and the Ugly" so I am sure that is why i felt the connection. It was more a vibe than a scene for scene remake but I got the vibe for sure.

@cryptophoenix2023
@cryptophoenix2023 3 ай бұрын
My theory is they aren't the actual jetpack, which would be reserved for specialist troops given its massive size and weight and the way that size would impede overall movement for an average soldier just to give them super-jumping and controlled descent abilities. While the games don't implement any kind of movement-restriction dynamic for the jetpack, practically speaking the jetpack would be very bulky and would restrict its user's movements in some way, so it would make sense to have a smaller alternative that can only levitate or control descent for a short timeframe but leaves movement unrestricted at the expense of being able to use weapons in flight/descent. That, and I think crafting jetpacks in FO4 was just a fun game mechanic rather than a lore contribution, and that a piece of tech like a PA jetpack would be nearly impossible to build from scratch in the wasteland--so the supply of those that they've recovered would be very slim. I could see the BoS coming up with a modification like the wrist thrusters though, and despite the ability to do "superhero landings" there is a tactical advantage to being able to control where and how softly you land--even if it removes your ability to use a weapon during use (i.e., stealth landings). That's how I would approach it, at least, and I'm probably 200% wrong xD
