Always loved the Doobie brothers. Tom Johnston is one of my favorite guitarists, singer, and songwriter. Plus my name is Tom as well. Huge influence on me. Love the intro to China Grove.

Doobies are my favourite group and China Grove my favourite song. Johnson appears to be a very pleasant, unassuming, unpretentious man. So refreshing.

It's funny how this interviewer was surprised about Tom's interest in R&B. A lot of Black people included me were feeling Listen To The Music. I love the Doobies. Both Tom and Michael eras. Totally different sounds. I like all types of music, so they both fit into my listening wheel house.
