Glad you got the chance to do this because even though I’d love to have had some other questions asked it was nice to get good communication with a dev from someone who actually likes the game as opposed to who is just critical. I love this game and want to see it grow and do even better.

Ive watch 2 mins of this and its already better that SOME OTHER peoples "questioning' of the devs. Guess their city needed them more than the real questions needed asking.

My only concern is for people without active friend lists or guild that the epic que will take longer as people will avoid the more challenging ques with random groups

Well as long as mount insignia bonuses don't change, (they need to,) we can slowly improve those insignia's, over years. But if they alter or change those mount insignia bonus' then the community has a real problem if they now have insignia's they spent a year refining that they then don't need.

Just writing some comments as I watch/listen to the video: I'm surprised that only 1 Person worked on the bard class as Systems developer. I would've thought that there were more people working on it. Nice that they are looking at more ways to get insignia powder but that really should be released with mod 21 and not some time in the future. No answer to the regular dungeon queue ad reward. Why should I do this any maybe get a long dungeon like FBI for ~6k AD. Also most people will only do the hard dungeon queue in premade groups. I doubt people will find a pug group without waiting forever. To bad that they don't do anything about the paladin but I wasn't really expecting any balance updates. On Preview there is now companion equipment. At least I can claim it on my level 80(20) toon. I don't know when in the leveling process you would get it but we really need some companion qeuipment for leveling. For the zen exchange the wait now is up to almost 6 months. More AD sinks are good and with the recent items the backlog has been down a little bit. So I hope they conitniue that trend. It's great that they want to improve the strongholds. To bad there won't be any changes this year. On topic of the mount collars and item level I still don't like tying the stats to the total item level of the character. That makes min-maxing pretty much impossible if you ever want to change some piece of gear. I kind of stopped doing that and now just care that I don't have useless stats. And on top of that is the problem that 90% of content is scaled in some way so higher item level means nothing.

lots of useful info, keep up the great content also i feel like the paladin would be great if they kept the shields the same and added regen to their abilities that gave shields, instead of just straight healing, shield reduce damage taken while the regen slowly heals them, the other option, when a shield expires (via damage or running out), heal for X magnitude

I can understand that you want us to see the whole video, but in a video of 1h, talking about various topics, we would appreciate a reference (min) where each topic begins. Because it is likely that some of us are only interested in a particular topic.

gg !! Don't worry players ... We know that mythical badges are a big punch for you, but for Mod 22-23 it will be easier to get Powder. Meanwhile, you know, they will have very "cheap" packs for you and you will be able to accumulate Tradebars with your VIP ... All this for free in the zen market ... so don't complain, they only need half a year to get it. PS: I find it absolutely ridiculous that he says that most players do not see "so difficult" to obtain the collars. He's right ... we don't see it that way, we see it absolutely impossible ... xD

It would be neat if some Planescape themed content was released for Neverwinter. I suppose the Descent to Avernus was something of a start on that front.

The biggest problem for me with the collars, is that the reward vs the time and materials put in just isn't worth it at all past purple 🤷‍♂️

Concerning ZAX they maybe should look into their rng-code. I know several ppl pulling regulary legy stuff out of everything and others like me nothing for years....so some get super rich and put one 5k AD stack after next into ZAX and the others just get frustrated getting black pearls...

I absolutely oppose the idea of giving Stronghold more levels. It was really hard to level Stronghold the last time. It took 2 years. They should put temporary buildings for temp buffs or vendors where you can burn vouchers and shards. Stronghold as a community module is an outdated concept. In 2015 lots of Mmo implemented it. But they rarely changed it. They should put more trials and dungeons to the game with difficulty settings instead. Or classes.

I do want the old blue shield back from the paladin. The way he said it, it seems he has not even seen how paladins struggle healing players in trials or dungeons....ugggg sooo frustrating!

For the ZAX issue, I was thinking of lowering the amount of zen a player can request. Cause rn, a player is able to list 25k zen, and maybe lowering it to like 10k or 15k will allow other players to be able to have more of a chance of getting their listings, and maybe it'll reduce the time.

Give us epic transmutes from Wondrous bazaar Please! XD Id pay any amount of ad for it. Maybe a collection and u can buy one piece every week/Month. Would be so much fun! Farming ad for transmutes is the best content ^^ and has a different vibe than Buying halo for 2.5 mil from the ah.

On Pally heals. I think we are closer to the challenge that he speaks of. Your point on the heal being a tad more may not suit that. I personally run with the Sheltered Healing feat. This makes your cure wounds heal more. Plus my weapon mod is 10% to cure wounds. This helps that end allot. I also slot the Shield of Faith daily which is great for boss's add'l mob spawns when it can get hard to keep everyone alive. I also sometimes slot Banishment. That is a very long stun in which no damage is often occurring at all. I also use Tiamat orb which debuffs mobs and also stuns. I also slot all of the health potion buff boons as well as the group heal guild boon while using the +1 potion bottles on the AH. In conclusion, this helps augment the pally weaker heals quite allot. This is probably a much less utilized build and style, but it has worked well for me.

That question about how to deal with comments and stuff really hit me when it got to the point of being accused of shilling. I've been accused of it several times on the forums, and there have been times where I would really let it get to me, especially with certain mods. But yeah, this community (NW's) is pretty toxic.

Just an observation too....a few more "hard hitting" questions to cut thru the bull shit next time would be ace 👌 you got really close when talking about the collars and the cost of upgrading I'd have just liked to see you push harder on some of the more decisive issues. An excellent first time instance tho. Really well done.

Most players leave the mount collars at epic, leg at most. It's not worth the time/money. When you get to the point where all you have left are the collars to do, you're better off investing into another toon.

There are many, like myself, that can't afford to get the ad to get something every week Just like I missed the Coal ward because I just didn't have it in ad or zen.

I wanna know who the genius designer who decided to make the middle mouse pad on the PS controller open bags and invoke. It's the best thing in a dungeon when I open my bags and run off the edge of the map or spam close bags 50+ times until I die because I can't exit. It's such a sensitive button the slightest graze can open menus -.-. Or atleast allow an option to opt out of use of the button.

My question would be, why are they constantly modifying and changing the game instead of adding new content? A bis companion or item is soon made obsolete the next mod. It is good to have a new goal every so often but how would they feel if i grinded for a year to reach all mythic insignia, only to have them nerfed by 50%? This causes people to lose trust and tbh fearful about any future updates making their progress redundant. The longer it takes to reach a goal, the slower it should be made obsolete with future content.

This insignia powder thing remembers me of Mod 4 RP. Remember how they said refining dragon weapons and the belts wasn't necesary?. I have seen what this mythic babies can do on a player stats, mythic insignias power boost is A BIG deal. Just like the old artifact gear. Only this time we dont have Dragon Hoards, so you better save that millions of AD per insignia since greens, blues and purples are sky rocketing on price.

It's been a long time since I commented. Hi, I've recently seen you talk to the devs more often and thought about two points that I'd like being added to the game. I play with my dad, he is diabetic, and had a heart attack in 2014. Since he got the surgery to save his life, his condition in general got worse than it was, and his sight got compromised because of that. He has lessened vision (I don't know the correct translation, so I transliterated it), so I would like to add a way to highlight a party member (i always party with him) so he can easily find me. I also would like them to make the quest path to have an option to be "very visible" (I mean like a hard line that shines or something). Likewise, I'm happy with some features, like changing the size of the UI and the size of the mouse cursor. I know it's a lot of work for just one person, but this game (with all of its flaws, not gonna lie) gave us the opportunity to keep bonding. Any way (hope it wasn't too much read XD) great interview, love the vid. PS. Sorry for my awful english.

I thought I was going to play a little Neverwinter today, but when I started up my Steam app and tired logging in I saw I am now being forced to link my Arc and Steam accounts. Of course, this instantly makes me wary. Things like this are usually NOT in my best interests. I better make sure my brother never signs into his account on this computer, we might both get shafted. Doing a quick search online about similar account linking Cryptic or Perfect World forced on other people showed me many players last year on StarTrekonline that lost all their characters. Gone. Imagine losing all the characters you spent cold hard cash on that you earned from donating plasma over the last decade. I see now why people have strokes. Depending on the way you login this time around with Steam to Neverwinter, the game might think it is a new account, obviously without characters, and then swiftly deletes all your existing characters. I guess there really is no reason for me to play this game any more. I'm going to find something better to do with my money and my life. FU Cryptic. About the video, I wont get too much into all of the STILL broken Classes; who even plays a Wizard any more? My Paladin comes in swinging around like Bambi's Balls with three or four Smites before having to go sit down. Paladin's were never meant to be full-time healers, restoring only 4 Hit Points per level in D&D, but you could add some Control or Poison removal powers to the game like Cure Disease is used in D&D. You know, kids are making scripts for custom spell-casting classes in NWN2, but it takes Cryptic's ONE developer that they had on it four months to make a Bard because animations are hard. Pft Earlier after seeing this vid I was going to say: I hate being spoon fed, but I also hate being railroaded. I would rather blaze my own trail. Reducing the level limit to 20 is more inline with the original leveling in D&D, but honestly I would rather work my way up slowly instead of gaining a level here and there for participating in running to the end of a Dungeon the fastest. Removing XP is taking the game further AWAY from D&D. The so called "streamlined" or "polished" leveling up method is specifically meant to push players towards end-game content faster so you can become a slave to the grind for bugged gear and other material crap ("spend your Asshole Diamonds here") instead of developing your character's skills (which can't be sold for AD). The ZAX exchange was "broken" since day one!!! But really though, it works exactly how the Devs want it to work. They control the inflation rate of the AD that they keep dumping on the market. They dribble some AD in your lap and you think "oh boy now I can get VIP once I convert this on the exchange into ZEN". So you wait, see your first kid born, then wait some more, then see them graduate college, still waiting for your ZEN, and so eventually you break down and shell out some cash money you got out of grandma's purse. Where the Hell is all the ZEN that is going into the exchange? They make damn sure you can get AD for ZEN. Otherwise AD would be worthless. Now the candy corn they hand out is tied to real money, they just wave a magic wand and ::Poof:: money starts falling out of your pockets. The game technically still isn't Pay to Play, even though alot of content is locked behind ZEN pay walls, but it does border on being a subscription service for people with gambling addictions that are also bad at math. I didn't know it was even possible for someone to kick me square in the ass while also stroking a whale. If you, as a game crook, want to light AD on fire you could do alot of things. Character's could pay AD for training when it's time to level-up. You might even have Strongholds help people train and foot the bill for the AD. Sell Companion and Mount Upgrade tokens for AD. Sell Fashion items for AD. Sell Collars for AD in the Bazaar (does anyone use collars?) Let Strongholds use more AD to build crap (crap that deteriorates over time without constantly feed it AD). Make a wishing well you can toss AD in for Jadites. The fact that the developers stand around with their thumbs up their asses for what, 8 years? and never offer ANY solution tells me they are crooks. Stop taking food off your plate and putting it on theirs, they don't deserve it.

You should have asked why they took out the level indicator. D&D never took out the level indicator. This lets a player know where they stand and what they need to do to get to the next level. Guesswork doesn't work.

I also don't enjoy cragmire crypts! Second to msp because the end boss have to do no damage or it wipes!

I know what you should do if you want to get the word out about some in-game promotion or sale is to post it to all your 3rd-party social media sites, and absolutely, ABSOLUTELY avoid posting to your own forum. I know if I personally want to know what's happening in Neverwinter, I go ask my next-door neighbour.

Money sinks I always thought those should be into fashion. Rather than gear to level up. I mean what's the point killing everything in the world if I am not looking good and if it means looking good n I'm willing to spend a good amount of ad or gold. Also, I love story mode in games and the thing I hate is having to wait an entire week to know what happens next. I think grinding zones is a good thing but not when its tied to my story enjoyment. This is probably why I enjoyed all the old stories and under mountain.

@Silv3ry Next time could you ask about reworking bastion for arbitor to work more like the warlock's well. Healing ability isn't needed for dps spec especially with it costing half your divinity. Also ideas for the bazaar are insignia powder, companion tokens, and mount tokens.

It's 2021.. why isn't there controller support for the game? Some of us have arthritis and keyboard play is painful after a while. 😞

Finally a NW Developer who actually plays the game, unfortunately he sounds bored from the game as much as all of us. Me and everyone with basic moral compass surely believe the folks at Cryptic are very nice and lovely people, however we have endless amount of reason to be upset with the game and more than questionable changes we've been through the past couple of years, so any criticism and hate toward the game is directed at their performance and work on the game, it's never personal. As a person who plays the game for over 5 years and been investing in VIP and additional spending in the ZEN market, I believe I've invested a good chunk of real cash into the game to have all the right to criticize, but not just a financial reasons, its mostly because I love the game and I wanted it to be good, to be better and not just for me, but for everyone playing and at the same time support the developers and everyone involved in the project. However, as I said my investment is not just financial, moreover I don't care about the money, I am mostly frustrated for the time I've invested believing this is an actual MMO heavily focused on PvE (PvP) content and not just a microtransactional style MMO that constantly reverts and changes gear in order to promote sales. So this is what I mean by "hate" and "negativity", it's not the toxic community, it's the unjust changes that hurt veterans and high lvl players who invested a lot in the game. In fact the community is quite protective of the company, there are people that always shun away any criticism of the game in the public discussion, there are plenty of shills in the community, so no worries about that. Even with the endless negative nerfs on the gear that hurt high lvl players, some of us are still here and still checking if direction was fixed, but unfortunately nothing on the horizon suggests that. The main problem with the game is not the direct lack of content, its the loot system, as old players are well aware, the old content provided a regular drops from zone quests, hunts, dungeons, for example head, chest, gloves, boots which were a good way for the players to be introduced to a daily flow of new items to upgrade characters and feel a sense of progression. In the latest module of New Sharandar this is non-existent, the only way to get new items is to just run VoS and don't even wanna talk about the bounties, but I have to explain - after doing over hundred bounties I did not get a single epic comp piece and somewhere about 150 I finally got 2 and ofc not for my DPS role, good thing I also have tank so at least there I can put them to use, on top of the abysmal drop rates of epic comp gear those bounties were not designed into a specific instance content like Barovia hunts or Master Expeditions for which those caves all across New Sharandar could have been used, instead we were forced to compete with other players trying to do their daily bounties and logout, it is just ridiculous and outrageous. I can keep going on with endless more examples where the game went in this direction since Inquisition Incorporated, but nobody is gonna read this comment anyway, so I don't wanna waste my time any further.

Honestly I dont care what they do at this point, my alt toons are "good enough" to do at least every mod behind each latest and my mains dont struggle with old gear and crappy collars. My main TR is still rocking star gear from undermountain. Im not grinding hours for stuff that is marginally better than what works.

i used to play but than quit after the launch of mod20 for how i haven't been back for 7 months cause when i tried to come back i still hated the game and have no idea if i will even return cause i just feel that mod21is going to be a failure of mod20 with no hopes why i made a good choice not playing it for how sad it was

Must be nice to have greater shards going for so cheaply. 200k on Xbox meaning that to get 5 epic collars to mythic you’d be spending 150,000,000 ad. But hey it’s only 75,000,000 ad if shards are 100k. I play 5 accounts so that I can convert 500,000 ad a day from queues and even got the free 50 shards per account and even I don’t have mythical collars. And I was farming endgame already. I can’t imagine the newer players coming into this.

Rough ad rewards is useless, only converting 100,000 ad a day useless my toon just been sat on 10 n a half mil rough ad for ever n ever, don't even bother capping my daily cap anymore so no dungs just grinding same old n standing round watching wallet warriors trying to scam the newbies now n swapping stuff between themselves the fun has gone in this game now been playing 7 yrs, n now can't convert ad to zen well... Game over for newbies such a shame do love the game but don't want to quit I've put sooo much time n effort I don't want to walk away

Watched the entire video, found 3 codes, blink and you miss it...None of them work for PS4. Good vid with info but waste of time trying to figure out which code is right for which system where to redeem code, cause it's not in game, then to find out it doesn't work. Kind of souring experience. I'm probably doing something wrong but I would rather play a game then waste time on trying to figure out how to get something free that likely isn't worth the time.
