I love that you talked a little bit about your troubles with your extended family. I talked a little bit in my bible study about family trauma and family members' drug addiction . To me, everyone needs to vent. And there is a right and wrong way to do it. I think the people that don't let it out and keeps it in eventually will come out and most of the time it is at the wrong time. I have been married for 32 years and I can't say that mine hasn't been up and down. But I can say that I wouldn't be where I am today without her. My family has it's faults and hers does too. But we focus on our family as a whole and try to not let their problems get in our way. I support her alot because she has 2 siblings on drugs so don't feel your alone in this boat. We all have our flaws but that is what makes us special. Keep up the good work and God bless you on your journey!

Janie I feel your pain. I had a brother that had the same issue except his was alcohol. We were so close when we were younger. I prayed and prayed for him to get sober but unfortunately July 2020 his son passed away which made his drinking even worse then March 15 of this year my brother passed away unexpectedly two days after what would’ve been his sons birthday. His death broke me and my parents, I pray that you and your brother straighten out your differences and that your brother gets sober. losing a sibling is so painful.

Only meet him 3 times in my life and never meet my mom. 17 years of the being shuffled home to home never could be adopted because of surviving father and wanting nothing to do with me. Without sharing too much, I came from a very large family (13 children). I did not have much of a relationship with my parents. They never accepted my wife...until she was disabled and confined to a wheelchair. I'm guessing that it wasn't until then that they saw how much I loved her. Unfortunately, my wife passed away a little over a year ago, I miss her every day. I believe that's why I'm attracted to you guys, you remind me of us.
