I dismissed Gumball as just some show that does random for the sake of it. But then I caught some eps when my cable box went on the fritz and found it to be exceptional. Show has great writing, humor, tremendous heart, and wasn't afraid to make fun of itself. Lots of fourth wall moments and self awareness. Moments of poignant social commentary and repudiation of today's nonsense. I'm about the same age as y'all too lol

The Amazing World of Gumball has some of the best humor of the 2010’s. It’s a really bizarre experience to watch and not have context of the characters and relationships, but once you get into it, your attention is captivated for the rest of the series.
