I rented a 10' x 11' room in a house with a closet for $600 in san diego, california back in 2007. And that was a good deal. Sure way bigger shower space and kitchen but mostly kept to room cause living room wasn't a shared space. So 275 for that isnt as bad imo

Honeslty, from my Japanese perspective, I don't feel that the apartment is MAD small. I mean, alot of the renters who live in these apartments are either poverished people who's blessed to have a roof over their heads or Business men and OL (Office Ladies) who don't have the time going back and forth from work due to their overtime. I had times when I treated capsule hotels as my apartment and thought of selling my real crib since I didn't go back home often (lots of people either sleep in offices or rent cubicles in gaming cafes). Also, Like Ross said, it depends how tall you is, apart from our honda-like compact oui-ouis. If you an average Japanese height (5ft 6in), you can basically live somewhat comfy there. If you a fucking 6ft+ American, European you finna have 問題s 100% Edit: In traditional Japanese houses, the toilet is usually separated from the shower+tub to avoid cross contamination. That's why the word "bathroom" raises some eyebrows in Japan (use "toilet" or "WC - Water Closet" instead)

I built a house of cards as a kid, but this is the first time seeing a "house of card". I lived in Japan for a year, and the toilet room was almost that small. I'm 6'4" and couldn't close the door if I had to sit and poop. The rest of the house had pretty normal sized rooms, although I had to duck under every single doorway and bob my head around ceiling lights. I definitely came back from Japan with more lumps on my head. The house was about 800 square feet, so quite small for US natives, but not ridiculous by European or Asian standards.

Trust me, you can learn how to adapt I live in a 10 x 10 room with the shower in it and the bathroom is outside my door. I have my gaming set up a Murphy bed that I put up and I can make it to a work area, but it’s also free for me lol so I can’t complain and I live on the property that I work at

Tbf, Japanese are much smaller and thinner than most Americans, also I guarantee you that tall wouldn’t be able to rent there anyway. It’s much harder for foreigners to rent there and usually it’s up to the other residents in the building. It’s how the poorer Japanese live, they are also (mostly the males) are very introverted and would rather just sit by themselves without ever inviting people over. They will watch anime and be on the internet almost all the time. If they want to socialize they go to restaurants and karaoke bars, they not be partying at home lol

My family basically had to settle for the internet provider that sucked the least. We still haven’t been offered those high speeds yet, which especially sucks during WWE PLE’s.
