This story is more related to chinese myths. Those 2 were most likely humans that are able to cultivate to immortality, is a whole thing. There's even old book genres for it. 2 cultivators or 2 immortals took you in several times for no reason? For the mortal folk of china these people are no different that gods and they have this kind of ability of turning invisible, flying trough the sky, making someone unconscious. Specially when they are using white robes? Is a dead give away. And these cultivators/immortals would avoid the mortal world, avoiding the mortal red dust. So that's why is a little strange, and yes, if they sense spiritual energy on you they may kidnap you so you can also have a chance of becoming one of them, they take you to their organization usually hidden somewhere. But is taken more like part of chinese traditions, they have Sects, and it's real but they never show those super-power abilities shown on this story for example, they even have te communist party iconography inside their sects. Is more like a monastery life style in comparison in the west. Sure, if you are not aware of their culture you may think it's aliens, but the 2 guys being Cultivators fit the bill to well.
