We went deep into the labyrinth of Pettyjohns cave and at one point got lost inside an unmapped section of the cave.

The thing I don’t get the most is trusting mystery ropes. Like…. I don’t question anything else y’all do. I am a climber and I’ll tell ya I am not putting my body weight on a rope I just found in a dark wet cave.

we didn't need to use the sketchy Walmart rope, we could had freeclimbed it and were wedging ourselves up anyway. It just helped us get up easier, didn't put any faith in it.

Don’t part company. Don’t allow yourself to be urged on, into tight squeezes alone. Being ‘pinned’ in that situation would be horrible. You’d be forcing your friends to come in after you, when they initially didn’t want to? You’re making really interesting vids, I am enjoying them, when I’m not cringing and peering through my fingers, that is. Thank you fellas.

@@locabynature As someone allergic to pollen the air down there is actually easier to breath for me. There's also a strong draft going through most of the cave. At 13:30 you can see where screech owl cave comes down from the surface as well, lots of flies coming in from there, and gets a lot warmer near it.

@@CaveChronicles I always thought it would be stuffy down there but it's good to know. I'm not so much claustrophobic as just not being able to breathe. I don't think I know the word for when you portray your own fears to someone else's situation.

Digging and displacing material in caves is a *huge* nono for normal people (not necessarily expedition teams). Especially for relatively accessible caves like PettyJohn. The NSS would have your ass.
@ActionAdventureTwins2 жыл бұрын
Petty johns cave is a sacrificial cave, that has had way worse done to it than scooping a little mud out of the way to get into new areas. And the area we were in floods everytime it rains so new mud will simply wash back into place eventually
@robokid200012 жыл бұрын
