Hello Everyone, this is a basic beginner tutorial to making animated UI in Fortnite UEFN.

This UEFN Beginner tutorial will go over how to create basic animated UI that are custom made by you. WE will go over widget blueprints, how to set up custom images, and show them to the player. Additionally, we will go over how to use post process volumes to create custom UI with a custom material. This video is NOT a tutorial on how to create materials, because that is an entirely different segment within UEFN. Imagine if the best UEFN maps out right now, like Tycoons, FFA maps, or even Battle Royales used custom Animated UIs, that would blow everyone's mind!

anchor in widget blueprint to the middle, and in hud message device choose custom placement and anchor where you want it. that should fix the problem with hud scale

Really? That's awesome - the more you know. Although another issue which I forgot to mention is that using a widget blueprint requires a hud message layer, and you are only provided 5 in game. This could be a problem if you plan on using hud devices for other things.

@@piequalsthree3 yeah i found out myself when i played with the settings ahah. I put text in the healthbar and doesnt matter 25 or 150% the text stays in the healthbar. And what you said with layers is sadly true, i hope they add more layers in the future

@@chinonoob3219 In th widget blueprint, there is a flower looking thing in the corner of your canvas. That is your anchor. I believe you can move it to the center, or in the details of the canvas you can choose a custom anchor to a center

On the Post Process. When you moved the 3 to the upper left hand corner, what if i wanted it to be lower right or in the middle of screen? Also can Post Process be dynamic? As in display PostProcessImage1 when Verse variable X = 1 and then display PostProcessImage2 when X = 2?

is there a way to have your widget go away if you click a button for example? The hud message device doesn't have a hide function for agent so if you click a button, the widget dissapears for everyone. How can you make it where the widget only goes away for only players that click on a button?

Hi, can you make a tutorial on how to display on the u an inventory object count I mean that for example if you have 2 key that it display "key : 2" on the up right corner of the screen. You can to that with the "GetItemCount" on the conditional button i think

You just need to use the translationX or Y instead of both.

google how to create moving textures, i followed one for lava , although it moves continuously. ill update if i get it to move once

Use a MakeFloat2 node, plug whatever value you want it to move in X and zero in Y - get the output of that node and plug it into the screen position

You could always use a Level Sequence for it though - toss an MPC into it and have away at animating :v

Do you mean physically merge them into one mesh? Or just have the ability to group them together. If the latter, you can just parent every mesh to one mesh, and then any changes made to the parent will propagate to the children mesh
