Great choice of a track to demonstrate compression. Sometimes compression is hard to hear differences for new users. Just one added thought., a lot of times, compression is easier to hear in the context of the mix where make up gain brings nuances up above sounds in the mix that are masking the quiet nuances.

Hi Joe. I had a question about the Channel Strip plugin for Studio One Pro. On all of my final mixes, I use a few things almost religiously , Binural pan, Channel strip, and limiter. My question is about the Channel Strip plugin with specific emphasis on the compression settings. There is a slow, medium and fast compression setting as well as overall compression dials and expand dials. Do you use those compression dials at all? I typically compress all of the tracks themselves, so, I didn't know why there would be the need for the compression and expand dials on the channel strip. I have always left them at 0 . Can you advise how you use the channel strip and the compression in the channel strip? Thanks Mark Cumming GA

What does the sidechain, stereo link and look ahead buttons do?
