In this series, I will teach you the basics of nuclear reactors. The technical level will be for an informed citizen audience, not a nuclear engineer audience (although maybe you will think differently lol). In Part 3, I go in-depth on Moderators and Coolants and answer these questions: what is a moderator, what is a coolant, and why might you pick one moderator or coolant over another?

Another fantastic video. I was out when I got the notification, but watched it soon as I got home! 4:23 , 14:01 I’ll never not chuckle if you use that phrase

Yes, Episode three is here! Thus far I'm really enjoying this series. I cannot wait when you get into the truly reactor-y bits^^ And thanks to you I finally managed to get to grips with "neutron scattering". The other nuclear physics parts I have down quite well (yes, even the Xenon poisoning weirdness), although I couldn't do any of the chicken scratch formulas if my life depended on it. But the whole scattering thing kept eluding me. Your explanation finally made it click. Excellent! On to Episode four it is😄
