What about mite strains resistant to amitraz-based products?

Hi Charlie! Mite resistance can be avoided with the good IPM strategy, including wax renewal and the rotation of active ingredients - ideally, you should target mites with different active ingredients during a same year. So as long as you are implementing the good actions to keep your mites sensitive, amitraz is a great ally to fight varroa mites! Especially if you want to use a flash treatment between honey flows, since there is no temperature constraints when using Amiflex, and no waiting time before placing the honey supers on.
