1:10:00 For the music Box: You want to go AS FAR AWAY from what you think the ghost room is as possible. You want a teammate IN what you think is the ghost room. When you activate the Music Box, the music box will make the ghost sing along while remaining invisible, broadcasting its current location. If the music box is within 5 meters of the ghost, it will trigger a ghost event where the ghost manifests and begins to walk towards the box. If it walks for more than 5 seconds, Cursed Hunt. If the ghost is within a short distance of the player holding the box, Cursed Hunt and you are usually instantly dead. If you throw the box while it plays rather than setting it down, Cursed Hunt. The song drains sanity. If your Sanity hits 0% while playing, regular Hunt.The full song drains 75% total for EVERYONE that is close enough to hear it. ~2.5 meters. Music Box can only be used ONCE. Music Box being active does NOT prevent anything else from happening. So no, other interactions do not mean that it is Twins for example.

@@nikk-named I have a tip for you if you use twitch from your phone, or haven’t done this yet. Twitch always gives me my notice albeit at least over 5 min late. There’s a notification setting that was on by default when added, you’ll have to look for it in twitch settings, for “Smart notifications” I don’t even know what its supposed to do but it makes some streamers motifs not send or send incredibly late if at all. Turn off Smart Notifications on mobile twitch. Another similar thing is low latency player delays my streams by even longer than it is already

1:50:27 Yurei, Banshee, and Mare are the hardest ghosts in nightmare and insanity. They have very niche abilities that may never happen throught an entire 30 minute investigation.

Banshee can actually give itself away if it does something far away from the ghost room (but on the same floor). They didn't notice, but at 1:18:47, the ghost opened the closet that Gem was hiding in despite it being at the other end of the house. The only other ghosts that are likely to have done that are wraith, phantom, or twins.

@sifitis3100 My friends and I did the challenge last night, and at the start of the round, it did a couple of hunts from the garage, and then it started hunting from the master bedroom. I figured it must be Wraith, Banshee, Phantom, or Twins, right? The first three moved to the garage because we went there first and just happened to hunt while we had no sanity or twins threw something down there from the master bedroom and caused a hunt. It walked through salt, it was an average blink, it was chasing everybody, and it sounded like normal speed. The ghost was an obake. It either changed ghost rooms through 4 rooms in 60 seconds, or it just felt like being in the garage for a few hunts.

@@pixi_EvieOni are like the easiest ghosts to identify for me. This isn't fool-proof, but I've been correct more often than not when I think about this. If it events basically as soon as I enter the room/house, I can narrow it down to like 2, maybe 3, ghosts that are likely (Oni, Thaye, and maybe Goryo if I enter the favorite room). If it does the breath event and is visible when it breathes/hisses and drops your sanity by a lot with that one event, it's an Oni. I've had Oni events that drop my sanity by like 20% with just one. If sanity isn't visible, then just pay attention to the events. Oni event a lot and are overall very active and visible and will event in other rooms. Thaye will gradually become less active the more time you spend in the room/near them (during hunts does not count). Goryo are very active when you're in their room, but don't typically event in other rooms unless the room is directly adjacent.

To test for a banshee, all of you would stand in the room with the dots projector and see if the ghost goes to someone (its target).As others have stated, banshee screams are more on the rare side. To test for a yurei, you would need to listen for a double door tap. The double door tap would be the ghost trying to slam the door but failed.

58:09 Skizz, the laundry room and the twin bedroom were both cold because the laundry room was the ghost room and was in the process of warming up and the bedroom was in the process of cooling down. The Twins arent actually two ghosts. It just has the ability to interact with things within 15 meters of thw actual ghost.

@krakenpots5693 The way it's coded is that it's one ghost that can interact with things 16 meters away. Every time it interacts with something, it has a chance of interacting with something else with its "twin" which leads to the "twinteraction" which is indicative of a "dum-dump" sound of two separate things being thrown. There's also the chance that when twinteracting that, it'll do a hunt with its twin. Whether the hunt is done with the twin or not determins whether it"s faster or slower. As for events, Twins only have 1 event at a time.

To be honest, there were three mistakes they made in that moment: 1. They were nowhere near the door, making them sitting ducks for the Jinn. 2. They happened to do it in the ghost room without realizing it. (Not their fault, but still a mistake) And 3. They didn’t warn Gem about the con to the knowledge wish, meaning her death was WAY worse as a result. Long story short, they were basically setting themselves up for disaster that round. I don’t blame Gem for ripping into them right after, either

1:35:48 raiju would have been super fast with your flashlight on, and wouldnt speed up with line of sight. Thaye would be super slow at this point in time. Banshee is tricky. We dont know how many whispers Grian and Gem heard.

I think what happened in that first monkey paw game is that usually you guys leave the house so it never really activates a hunt but according to the wiki it hunts near the wisher immediately after the wish is made and you were all clumped up around gem.

1:11:41 deos are the fastest ghost in the game when it isn't near a player, and the slowest when it gets close. Since you were trying to run away when you died it wouldnt have caught you.

1:59:57 if you have ghost orbs and one of the mimic evidences then you only need to look for one if the other mimic evidences. In this case you had freezing so you need to look for UV and Spirit Box.

@1:05:00 Just because there is an interaction does not mean it is the ghost room. Ghosts wander and can interact with adjacent rooms. The forced interaction can be useful for narrowing its location or getting an EMF reading, but temperature will always be more reliable for determining the room. The ghost room will always be the coldest room in the house.

Phantom is very noticeable because of its long blinks during a hunt. The ghosts breath was also visible during the hunt while the breaker was off, nice piece of Hantu exclusive trivia.

Oh my god I was able to tell that that ghost wasn't a phantom and was a hantu instead cause it didnt speed up, I'm so happy I'm managing to learn the game without owning it

As a Canadian who is part Newfie, I can say that those who reside in Newfoundland (like Gem) are surprisingly more similar to/involved with England than other provinces in Canada. E.g. Newfoundland LOVES their tea, they care about what's going on with the Queen/royalty much more over there, etc. So Gem prioritizing making tea is 100% a normal phenomenon over there :)

I remember when the Jits crew started to play this and how hard it was for them. Impulse always walking around with the spirit box and testing every room😅. They had a hard time even at medium difficulty.

I wish more ghosts had fake evidences like the mimic has ghost orbs. Example, Hantu has freezing always. Obake has UV. Moroi has spirit box. Etc.

Heads up on the cursed hunt that wiped them all there is a chance that the ghost meant to only take out Tay but Impulse took the bullet and it lost track of Tay ended up just killing everyone it ran into due to it. Meaning Impulse, Skiz, Grian, and lastly Tay

I think with the Banshee run, Grian might have been the target but because he wasn't in the house, it was behaving like a normal ghost, which is why Impulse died in that hunt and then it went after Grian when he was hiding with Skizz

Gem being added is still Gigs! Gem/Grian, Impulse, Grian/Gem and Skiz! Its still GIGS with Scar and Gem instead of Skiz too! As it would be: Gem, Impulse, Grian and Scar. Impulse is the only one that HAS to stay for Gigs

If you look closely at around 14:18 (slow down the playback speed and pause/unpause a few times), you can see the Hantu’s dead giveaway: Freezing breath. If the breaker is off, the Hantu will give its own freezing breath from its ghost model during a hunt (dead players can’t see this breath). It can be very hard to notice, especially when you’re trying not to die. Of course, a Mimic that’s mimicking a Hantu will have the same breath, and it doesn’t help that the evidence of Hantus and Onryos overlap with the Mimic’s extra ghost orbs. Seeing a Mimic mimicking the freezing breath and getting what seems to be all 3 Hantu evidences is basically a massive “fuck you” from the game.

lol I was so mad at the beginning, because you can absolutely see the ghost in the picture, and when it was hunting you can see its breath. Dead giveaway for a Hantu but they aren't quite that experienced in this one yet.

1:47:10 one thing I will say about that last hunt is this. If it's target was Grian or Skizz then them closing the doors to their closet would not save them from the banshee. It opens the doors to guve the ghost a chance to see someone on the inside, and if it does it'll walk through the doors if it needs to. The only thing that saved Grian and Skizx there is that Impulse must have been the target. Because Impulse was inside and hiding when it opened the doors on Grian and Skizz it didnt see Impulse and therefore didnt go inside. Why it stayed in the room constantly trying to open the door? I dont kmow. Maybe a pathing error.

But if you're quick enough with closing the door, doesn't that break the line of sight enough? They often hide in closets successfully despite the ghost passing by multiple times opening the doors.

@Ombby close the door would break line of sight, but that wouldn't protect you if you're in a closet. Every time a ghost hears you speak, hears you use your equipment, or see you, it places a waypoint on your location, and it will travel to that location. It doesn't need a line of sight to go to where you were. So in this scenario Grian and Skizz said that it kept opening doors because it saw them and because one of them must have been the banshee target it wasn't leaving and was trying to fight them over the closet door to get to them. The issue with that scenario is that the ghost doesn't need to maintain a line of sight to go into a closet. As soonnas it saw them the first time it would have placed a waypoint in the closet for the ghost to travel to, and it would have walked through the doors whether they kept the doors closed or not. The likely answer is that the ghosts oathing must have broken in that room, and it couldn't find it's way out of the room and just kept opening the door by happenstance but never actually saw them.
