Thank you for all the work that you do, Dr. Campbell. I have a question, is the mitochondria exactly the same as the mom? Is there a slight variation do to the dad's DNA despite that the male does not contribute to the mitochondria? Is this part of the cell that never changes?

Yes, the child has exactly the same mitochondrial DNA as the mother. There will however be some change over long time periods due to mutation. Dad makes no contribution at all to the mitochondrial DNA line.

Sir What effect of radiation in humans body (inside out or outside in burn) ?

Hey there! If i m not mistaking, you are asking what are the effects of radiation on the human body is that correct? If so, I would say that we are exposed to various sorts of radiation throughout our daily lives. However, depending on the type ( from radiowaves to gamma rays), we may expect significant damages to our DNA. The higher the energy (low wavelengths &high frequency electromagnetic waves), the harsher the results. Subsequently, we may experience errors in the checkpoints of interphase (which may lead to cancerous cells proliferating, dna destructions etc)

Depends on the dose, a large dose will cause acute radiation sickness. Many people working on the fire at Chernobyl contracted leukaemia, as radiation effects the rapidly dividing cells in the bone marrow. Ionising radiations will increase cancer risk.
