Once again apologies for my mic being all chalked up. But hopefully everyone enjoys our Mamamoo journey! Welcome all Moomoos!

Mamamoo is the ogs of the kpop industry. They proved kpop groups can go head on head with pure vocal singers. They proved you don't have to conform to the standard to get the success you deserve.

Mamamoo hasn't disbanded and imo they never will, at least officially. They're a 4X4 team of all stars who believe they were destined to meet and become best friends even if they weren't singers or in a group together. They each have a successful solo career as well and over the last couple of years they've been dividing their time between group, solo and subunit activities. Earlier this year they wrapped up their My Con world tour with 9 dates in the US and joined TLC, the Spice Girls and Destiny's Child as the only girl groups to sell over 70K tickets on their debut US tour. Since then Wheein & Hwasa have been working on solo projects while Solar & Moonbyul have been promoting their duo album as the subunit Mamamoo+. In January Solar will start a 2-3 month run in her 2nd musical theatre role so it will be a while before they perform or record as a full group. Purple Hawke's video is fantastic but he/she never got around to making part 3 about the full group so there are a few other things we should mention about that weren't discussed in the guide. Unlike many girl groups Mamamoo doesn't limit themselves to a group concept such as cute, innocent, sexy or girl crush or a musical style to match the concept so they've been free to explore many genres and have one of the most diverse discographies you'll ever hear including r&b, jazz, swing, hip hop, latin pop, reggaeton, bossa nova, ballads, pop dance tracks and more. They're involved in all creative aspects of their career including songwriting, arranging, choreography, styling and MV concepts and have the most songwriting credits of any girl group. Folks say Mamamoo can sing anything and write a song about anything and some of their crack songs leave little doubt about it lol. Mamamoo is better live than on record because of their world class, always live vocals, charismatic stage presence and infectious bff team chemistry. The two essential sampler videos for Mamamoo are the Dingo Killing Voice medley of original songs from 2014 to 2020 (when the vid was made) and the Immortal Songs Medley, which includes some of the covers of classic (immortal) Korean songs they performed on the singing competition tv show Immortal Songs 2 between 2015-17, which was filmed at a MMM concert in 2017. If you don't want spoilers you might want to watch some MVs before the Killing Voice video but I recommend you check it out eventually. Mamamoo has a couple dozen group, solo and subunit albums and many dozens of singles and b-sides with MVs so you've got a lot of music to choose from. Have fun exploring one of the most fascinating and talented groups in kpop!

I see Mamamoo and I clicked. Mamamoo is one of the biggest girl group of the 3rd gen. When I was in middle and high school, everyone know about them despite I’m not in Korea. They are still very active as a group (just finished a big world tour this year). You can never go wrong with this group, just pic any song

Mamamoo are not disbanded (they just finished a world tour this year even though members are in diff companies) but their OT4 comebacks are fewer and far between because the scheduling is harder to coordinate. Solar & Moonbyul have been promoting as Mamamoo+ because they're both still at RBW (Mamamoo's original company) and Wheein and Hwasa have been doing solo stuff with their own companies, but the group is still together as of now!

Wheein has the perfect voice for OST's, and if you've watched a lot of K-Dramas, you've definitely heard her before. She is in high demand for OST's.

They have not broken the group yet. Despite being under different labels, they have performed together. There was the us tour in 1st half of year.. they also performed in august as a group. I was in the same city at the time but could not get to it…. I wish I could. You will learn that mamamoo has some great songs, both individually and as a group, but they are at another level when singing live.. and when I say live, I mean live. Their mics are on. They also have not been idle.. this year, so far, we have had 24+ songs (including colas) from each of the girls combined. Which seems like a lot, until you compare it to 2022 where we counted about 53.

Mamamoo are still together tho they focus more on their solo works having signed on 3 diff companies.. But during their recent Asian and US tour this year, they kept mentioning that Mamamoo will still continue. So I believe and trust them more than anything. ❤

Whilst Wheein and Hwasa are signed with other labels, they still have allowance to perform Mamamoo group activities (Wheein needs to re-negotiate this pretty much right now, but I don't see why that would not continue).

They have a funny song teasing each other about their heights, wich is 1cm difference. Really excited for this jorney, MMM is the best woman group in kpop, i just love them!!!

The Moo YT introduction videos are still worth watching. There is a bit of duplicate information. But it's an updated video, and does a mini history of the group. The group is still together. Wheein and Hwasa only signed with other companies for their solo stuff.

With Mamamoo you can't go wrong whatever songs you choose. My favorite songs are Decalcomanie and Destiny (for the later watch the Queendom performance. Their ultimate vocal flex is the Immortal Song Medley, which is a clip from their 2017 concert. The Korean show Immortal Songs is a competition show where the performers are covering songs by famous Korean artists. Mamamoo was the first girl group to win and the first group to win 3 times. Unfortunately the performances on the episodes will be blocked but the medley is fine. Mamamoo is not disbanded. They have performed together since Hwasa signed with P-Nation. Wheein signed with The Live in 2021 but they've had 2 albums since then. It is true that we will probably not see much new ot4 content since it's so much harder to coordinate.

There's a good reason why Wheein is reserved. She has big trust issues because of her biological "dad". The guy used her name to get a lot of loans. Her mom had to work 24/7, and she lived with her grandma, who died pretty early on. That's why the other members in Mamamoo cares a lot about her, even tho they're teasing her a lot, she's their little puppy.

The MAMAMOO members are among some of the most-credited idols in K-Pop as of early 2023 - Moonbyul actually has the most songwriting credits of all 3rd generation female idols at 115(2nd most credited famale artist overall... Yoon Mirae at 139), since she writes her own raps(and more) in almost all of the group’s songs. As well as contributing to the songwriting in many of them as well. - Solar has 37 credits to her name. She wrote the lyrics and composition for her solo song, “Spit it Out”. Composer on "Honey". - Hwasa has 44 credits. The lyrics to her solo song, “María”, were praised for its inventive and meaningful wordplay. They are widely considered as the vocal queens of kpop, in addition to being the biggest crackheads/goofballs in the industry. Mamamoo are the Vocal Queens... and the trend setters of KPop Everyone respects them, and groups are often inspired by them. Including BlackPink(another favorite of mine). Mamamoo and MooMoo's are accepting of everyone, and happy to see that they inspire others. With Solar it's hard to tell when she is having a Ditzy moment, or she is trying to make her members laugh/relax.... because she does both.

Recommendations: all. There are only a few B-sides that I wouldn't recommend, but their voices are so good that you might like the songs I don't care for. My favorites: Decalcomanie, the 2021 version of You're the Best, Destiny, and I better stop there before I list my entire collection. Other girl groups worth checking out even though they are disbanded: Girl's Day (just found 14 B-sides from them I like); Orange Caramel; Kara; T-Ara; Laboum; Crayon Pop; and from the earlier generation yet, Girls Generation and Wonder Girls. Girl's Day's Female President was the first K-Pop song I ever liked. It ROCKS.

BeLis Mamamoo! (Belive and Listen Mamamoo) Mamamoo is one of the greatest vocal lines in Kpop, MooMoos say that they eat CDs for breakfast. They are singers and performers first and Idols after that. Don't be fooled by the MVs they are better on live performances, sick ad libs and harmonies and 4 powerfull women (not girls) goofing around and HIPping your day. Don't expect perfect coreos and pinpoint dance movements, they forget their positions and parts they improvise and overcome, they make fun of each other. This makes them perfect on stage! They are some of the best women vocalists on kpop, maybe not the overall best but on the top 10/15 list all of them, any of Mamamoo vocalist can be the Main vocal in 99% of others kpop groups. And the harmonies...no other group can harmonize like them, it's second nature for them like breathing. Also they are funny and charismatic as hell. They don't play the cute young girl concept (that's not entirely true but the times they do it's to make fun of themselves), they are grown up women. They were the first artist of a new company (RBW) and didn't have money to promote. So initially they started making their own coreos, make up etcetera, also performing on the streets and in all the festivals they could to promote themselves. All 4 of them also have successful solo work. And all of them have some solo bops. One of those groups you cannot select a bias it's OT4 all the time ...all of them are masters of their specific trade and advanced performers in the others. Also they don't have Main or Lead positions, all of them can perform any of the tasks; there's an iconic performance in live TV where they change their song parts, the rappers sing and the singers rap. You should react to wheein last album. It's her first full album and she's also had a featuring with hwasa on one of the track. This is their first collab since their debut. Hwasa last release was " I love my body" after renewing her contract with pnation. Solar and moonbyul last release as mamamoo + sub-unit was " dang dang". Mamamoo will continue ❤

There are 3 types of stans in MAMAMOO, but the pretext is that ALL MAMAMOO stans are 1st OT4, before we talk about a bias... 1) you have 1 bias, and 3 bias wreckers 2) you have a different bias depending on the day, or the song 3) you have a bias line, and the corresponding line is the bias wrecker , just like he mentioned, we would call him the Unnie Line (Solar and Moonbyul bias), subsequently, the bias wreckers would be the Maknae Line (Wheein and Hwasa), the other lines would be - Angel (Solar and Wheein) vs Rapper Line (Moonbyul and Hwasa), and - LeMak Line (Leader Solar and Maknae Hwasa, also known as the Mother Line 🔥🔥), and Chwisa Line (Moonbyul and Wheein, also known as the Performance Line or the Handsome Line 😌😌)
