I swear I saw lightning while you were playing. ;p And reindeer makes sense. You're a northern spirit worker. The reindeer-drum is your ride to other worlds. Glad I watched this. It inspired me to go get my drum from the other room. We've just moved so everything is all over the place. And also that's why I haven't been commenting. Love the drum!

I have made my drum from reindeer skin. Reindeer is a so gentle, protection yet strong animal and spirit! Sami people were those using drums in the north (and still are) and they are reindeer herders. Maybe it is why the spirit of the reindeer came to you for your drum, as you are connected to Frey and Northern energies. ;)

I never considered that Frey might have a connection to reindeer, but I knew about the Sami. I have a great respect for them and their ways, so I suppose it shouldn't have been a surprise to me. I've worked a little with Reindeer and they do seem like strong and compassionate animals.

Indeed compassion is the word. And sense of sacrifice.I am studying Freyfaxi, the heathen harvest celebration. Harvest is a lot about the sacrifice of being for our surviving. I have read too that Frey, after giving his sword by love for Gerd, have been fighting in the battle with deer antlers, I can well imagining him with reindeer antlers. :)

Do it! Even if it's meant for decoration, like mine is, you can still play it. They're great fun!

Thank you! Seven years of band practice will do that. Though, I played french horn and not drums, but the rhythm still applies.
