Sennheiser needs a headphone that can sit on the throne - yet being still accessible, the 40,000€ HE-1 doesn’t count - with the Focal Utopia (4500€) and Hifiman Susvara (6000€). Time for the HD900s.

As an previous HD820 owern and HD800S/660/660S2 tester, i can say, for sure, these are the best Headphones Sennheiser ever released. I was shocked when i seen the price, i don't understand how they can be that cheap, but i don't care. Thank you for making them the way they are and that they exist.

I'd like to see HD700s or HD720. imo the only thing HD700 was lacking was clarity/resolution, and tighter bass response. The tuning is similar to Focal Clears but with bigger soundstage, ear bleeding treble, and of course muddier sound. actual potential if Sennheiser considered refining it.

Thankfully there is a simple mod to make it sound presentable. Similar to how the HD800 has the DuPont mod to tie down those “peaks”. I actually prefer the HD800 SDR > HD800s 😊

I still love my HD600 after all these years and I also have the HD700 which is nice but doesn't have what the 600 does imo but these seem to be a good 600 successor so looks like I'll have to give them a go.

Especially with Audeze crying about how impossible it is to have removeable pads in good headphones and why they use glue on all their expensive headphones, and their studio reference MM series headphones.

@@ABDLLHSDDQI Right? The HD800 series, Meze's higher end headphones, AKG's, Apple's Airpod Max, and a number of other high end or midrange headphones can all do this, whether by a latching mechanism or by magnets. Somehow, Audeze can't?

Super Interested to try these. My HD 280's are still going strong and even after using the HD 300, I didn't feel like they were worth the upgrade. But these look great!

@@user-mu6uy6ly6e Reminds me of the 1990 Pro specifically tbh. Same xlr output, the swappable pads for a difference in sound. Just with that HD 600/650 flair but modernized.
