What the Analog-era Roland fans like myself REALLY want is a true analog Juno 60/106 reissue and update much like Dave Smith has done with the newest iteration of the Prophet 5.

I think it’s a great addition and a good step forward for Roland to staying relevant but still being able to provide classic tone and sounds that are analog sounding. I am interested and will more than likely get this . Those that are complaining about not being true to analog, check out the Deepmind 12 by Behringer, it is the closest analog Juno 60/106 replica I own down to the faders it is a instant classic.

Right on, Roland! I can only imagine this model / line being very successful. It's like you have a Juno for real, but with all the modern digital amenities. THIS is finally what Roland needed to be doing re their past classics, this is finally that. Looks to be well designed, the UI ... I am a JDxA owner.....

lol you rly think behrinher thing is analog ?? lol real analog juno will cost easy 20k ,1st you need 750nm tech for chips ,no fab with these ,,, if you find one you will need load of $ to start these ,second you will have same old juno why ,well board can hold only some controls vs this digital with pc interface with a toon of these ,and even they make true analog costing arm and leg ppl will say bah too expensive i can buy one used for 2k ,now you see logic why digital not analog

Fascinating demonstration. I own both the 60 and the 106, and was hoping to add the X to my collection. However, it’s too complex. Too many options. Trying to do too many things. What made the originals so good was their simplicity. This is the opposite. I’d rather make music in the box on software than invest 2k into this. Sequential seems to be listening to their customers by re-releasing their vintage legends (and now Oberheim!!!!) but Roland seems to be a bit lost. Perhaps the X will sell well, and if it does, I hope they revive their classics with the profits. We love you, Roland! We just don’t want Zen Core as much as you do!

Behringer is copying all the old gear. Roland has no choice. They either have to release new versions of the old gear or let Behringer collect the revenue from their versions. Behringer has a Jupiter 8 clone in development now.
@TonyAndersonMusic

@@TomZentra understood on the clones. However, Roland has had at least a decade of demand - several years before behringer started cloning the classics. There are also no direct copies of the 106 or 60 out there - even if clones are in development, Roland holds the copyright and could compete with a clone by offering a superior product. Roland does have a choice - several choices! - and they seem to be making poor ones.

I own both analog and digital synths and my analog gear is no better then my digital in the sound quality. So all the hate for this technology is funny to me. It’s kinda like when DSLRs started to hit the market. I own both 35mm and Digital SLR cameras as well, and the DSLRs get used the most. So do my digital synths. In the end it’s not about if something is analog or digital but rather or not it can do a proper job of making music. Sure I wish the price of the Juno X was more around the price of the System 8, but it’s not. I guess you really gotta want it to be interested. I’m glad it’s not really plastic like everyone is saying too. With this all said I wish companies like Roland would listen to what the consumers want. If they want analog then give it to them. I personally don’t care if their analog or not. I really like the technology behind the Juno X and plan to use it to its advantages. The funny thing is no one is gonna ever know the difference when they listen to my music lol.

They can't do analogue anymore since decades ago. Mind you, the whiners are a toxic little handful of losers with dying antique synths cannibalizing other synths of the same for the parts to keep theirs alive, hoping for reissues along the way because their stuff is too old and gradually dwindling in numbers. They need to learn to let go, there are plenty of great modern analogues around and growing in numbers by the year, they really have no excuses. Another guy tells me they're brainwashed, and if certain artists decide to give whatever digital synths their blessing, they flock to those synths, lol Fantom-0 does what the Juno-X does and more for a significantly better price. But if you want to be focused on Juno-106 patches, then Juno-X is an alternate way to go, I suppose. Indeed, all this gear and even the antique synths are all overkill on stage.

@@Jason75913 I agree! So many options for people now days, and it seems like it’s never enough. It’s like everyone is obsessed with everything being analog still, and for what? Warmth and Fatness? These digital Zencore machines sound amazing, and you have the option to plug out or load up different instruments. I just think it’s brilliant. I haven’t really looked into the Fantom O series yet. I’ll check that out. To be honest I don’t really wanna buy anything. In fact I may even get rid of some things. I’m using a Digitone, Digitakt for most my beat sequencing and arps, and a BigSky, Microcosm on a JX-08 and JD-08 for pads and leads. All play them with a Keystep Pro. I couldn’t be more happy. I do think the Juno X is a bit over priced, but for what you get, it’s all someone would ever need. So much potential to create anything.

@infestedalien 2 жыл бұрын
It seems like the build quality is very good on this one and I think it's worth to pay the price for a well built Juno. You have to consider that you can load 4 synths and 1 rhythmic part in this machine, and above all it has balanced outputs. The JU-06A is available for cheaper price as an option if you are prepared to sacrify all the good extra.

@@alexandrosroussos Perfectly correct! Analog + poly gets crazy expensive! And not to talk about how expensive it becomes when they should add a more complex modulation to it. A good example is to look at Sequentials OB6 and Prophet 6. They both are very expensive (cheap at same time) thanks to the 6 voices requires to implement 2 oscillators, 1 sub, 1 filter, 1 filter env, 1 amp env and top on all this we need the polymod into every voicecard (6 total). Then each voice-card requires to be connected to a mainboard.

Roland, please introduce an EA-7 verion II for professionals. An arranger that will replace EA-7 and will have a central touchscreen and lightweight body. Roland sounds are the best! A Roland version of Yamaha PSR SX 700/900 or an arranger version of Fantom 0 to be precise. My dream specs are👇🏼 1. One 7" touchscreen and intuitive UI 2. Soft synth action keys (like Fantom 0) 3. 1500-2000 presets would be enough. Please add different ethnic categories' sounds and styles. 4. Button layouts like or better than Yamaha PSR SX line. 4 variations, and other live control buttons for styles. 5. At least 16 Tone registration buttons for one touch access to favourite tones 6. Dedicated buttons for Octave and Transpose (on the left side) 7. Good quality but not-so-powerful speakers for practicing at home without amp. Small sets of speakers will keep the weight down. Performers will always plug into the PA systems for performance. So, no need for huge speakers like Yamaha. 8. Keep the weight under 7-8 kg. 9. A nice foamed Roland logo gig bag to go with that. 10. Roland logo in the middle of the front panel (like Fantom 0 series) 11. Priced below $2000 12. Bluetooth and Wifi connectivity 13. Black color body 14. A powerful all-in-one machine for professionals from all over the workd who wants a Roland workstation and at the same time doesn't want to miss out on arranger capabilities. Great sounding tones - ready to use out of the box and some editing options. 15. Scene mode - to add layers and split up to 16 tones for live performances. 16. Can't think of anything else.
