Miserable weather cannot stop you from having fun on the club’s newest addition to the Sail Training fleet. Whether you are on a beginner course or looking to get some high performance sail training, the RS Quest can do it all.
在惡劣天氣下亦阻擋不到你帆船的樂趣。無論您是剛完成初級課程或是希望提高帆船技巧，RS Quest都可以做到。
The boats are now being rolled into use for courses at Middle Island and will be available for hire (for those on the approved helm list) when not required for Sail Training.
RS Quest 現已在中途島的帆船訓練課程中使用, 並且在沒有訓練課程時供會員租用(會員的姓名必須在認可名單上)。

Thanks for posting this, really wonderful video, would love to see more of this on the RS Quest! It may have been miserable weather, but the setting was stunning and some neat boat handling!

I’m struggling, RS don’t market this boat as a performer, yet here it is doing just that. Is the RS Quest a performer or not?

I sailed one for a couple hours last summer in about 16 knots of wind. I found the boat to sail quite well in that wind, very easy to handle. I never flew the asymmetric but is seems like it would go okay.

I work at a club that uses these to coach Adult Dinghy courses. Even without doing background research into their design, it's clear they were meant for instructing only - as they have metal handle rails on the underside of the boat to help a sailor get up on the centreboard when capsized. They're also really heavy, like 70/80kgs + of plastic hull with plenty of drag. Great fun if you don't own the boat and you're just taking it for a joyride, not so much if you want to do any decent sailing with it.

Performance... performance is a relative concept. Will these go as fast as an F-18 or a skiff? Almost certainly not. However, pretending that they cannot be sailed hard.... well I think they are really fun, fairly fast, reasonably easy to sail sailboats! Honestly, for what they are marketed as... they are pretty good performers. However, there are faster boats.... marketed differently.
