It's a beautiful design vision, but it will inevitably be enclosed to prevent suicides. Then it'll just be depressing - we can't have nice things.

there is a very small elevator that they say is only for people with disabilities. it only has 2 stops. Street level and the top floor. it does not stop on every floor.

Agree... in that respect this is a very excluding design and dated way of thinking unfortunately. It is likely that a lift will be installed and there will be some post rationalisation as to its implementation in the end. However, it's a shame that it didn't form a critical part of the initial brief.

Behind the "honeycomb paperwork" there is something that looks like a concrete H column curved (for shaping the structure) that seems an elevator, is in the render

At 1:06, you can see the elevator in the rendering, on the left of the structure, slightly curved cause of the cone shaped structure

It's also going to be surrounded by ridiculously expensive shopping centers and 10 million dollar apartments, so let's not get too high and mighty about it's lack of advertising or commercial function.

it is not for people with reduced mobility. there is a small elevator that takes you to the top and back to the bottom. but that is it. there is no place to rest and the elevator does not stop at any of the floors.

I think it's looking just fine. All of it. Derision is envy lashing out at the wrong people. They scream in-chorus . . . and it's members of the chorus who are the problem to them.

It's good to embrace any positives. However, this large public space and its $150MM 'landmark' does not appear to provide nearly enough public value, in many respects. Plus, the video comes across as pretentious. Mr. Heatherwick seems straight out of central casting. Two scarves, and the rest. Why is there a close-up of his hands, at 1:22? (Simply because he mentioned 'physicality'?) Indeed, there's a "Vessel", here -more like a funnel: lots of private-sector contracts to go around; and Related Companies, too, receives financial perks including major tax benefits.

I was there this week.. .Completey useless and boring. the whole place has the impersonal feeling of an airport. the Vessel is ugly and once you've spent 10 minutes in it, you're over it. the views are not great either. When i was there, I noticed that the barriers of the vessel are low and there is nothing preventing suicide jumpers.
