After watching this video I've learned that business analytics is using tools and techniques to turn data into meaningful business insight, the types of analytics, planning the work and also the challenges, data often needs lots of clening this can sometimes be the most frustrating task and good analytics doesn't solve bad business process but if the process produces poor data, the analytics will be meaningless or even harmful if it's used to make important decisions. Also I've learned about the work planning whereas we should know how to analyze the problem, estimate the effort and build a business case. I have been doing this without knowing some of the things that you mentioned, there's a lot of noise and buzz words around analytics, just now I'm trying to see what's the trend with the "science" word added in data, the only thing I have not been doing yet is presenting statistic for predictions, and I guess that is the tricky part and therefore the science word involved. I'm studying again some maths concepts to fill this gap that I already have. Good video!.

Analytics is complex, but you need to know what you are measuring. What do you want to find. Then you'll need to figure out what your metrics are. You need to identify your vanity metrics (the ones that don't mean anything based off of what you are looking for. this is also known as the noise), metrics and the meaningful metrics. Identifying your metrics will help you with your return on investments.
