This is so clear. You are so good at explaining! I did get a little confused at first when you were underlining the root letters in the verbs as it looked like a patach. Maybe using a different colour to indicate the root letters would be clearer so as not to look exactly like a patach.

Do you think you'd be interested in making a video about how you learned Hebrew, for example were you born in Israel or one or both of your parents spoke Hebrew so you spoke from birth or if your parents made aliyah to Israel? Or are you just very talented when it comes to language learning? (I had years of study as a child but we learned prayers and as an adult if I want to learn more conversational modern Hebrew I have to start from scratch , although I still remember how to read somewhat.) Anyway, I'm very interested and I think your other viewers would be too. Thank you again and thanks in advance if you can answer my questions . 😊💕

I really like your handwriting, but I am just a beginner in the language and want to know if that's an acceptable hand-written script or if you're just using that style because it is easier for us to read. It appears like the printed form of the language rather than the handwritten style, but I prefer the printed look you've used. Any advice on when to use and when not to use either? Once again, your lessons are great. Toda.
@ThelahBenDan
@ThelahBenDan 7 жыл бұрын
Shalom and thank you again for watching! I write with the print (also called block letters), and this is how beginners are taught to read and write. By about 3rd grade I believe (in Israel) children are taught the script letters, and then moving forward writing is done in script, while most reading text (books, newspapers, textbooks, websites) use the print. So you can feel free to use the print until you've mastered it, and then learn the script and use that moving forward for writing. My videos are for beginners so that's why I write in print, that's what everyone learns (or is learning) first. Hope that helps!

It'd be cool to have a video explaining how to figure out the infinitive from the root or vice versa, and then how to conjugate the infinitive in the different tenses. I still find it to be the most confusing part of Hebrew to wrap my head around.
@ThelahBenDan
@ThelahBenDan 6 жыл бұрын
I hear you, but that's a LOT of information to try and squeeze into a video, or even multiple videos. Verbs in Hebrew fit into 7 different categories, and even within the categories there are multiple variations & irregular conjugations, so it's not something I could try to teach via KZfaq. I do teach a Hebrew verbs course, but even then we focus on past and present; future is another course entirely.
