Do we have to keep the phone on and keep clicking the buttons in keeping the plane movement? I just started this game and loving it. But is taking so much of my time in clicking on the planes.

Yup, the planes without an airport tag in the various airport progress rewards can be used anywhere. These will also not have an airport tag in the fleet menu.

I think every premium pass is worth it, including IAD. You get most of the value back just from bonus Handling Crew!

You do use both runways. One is for arrivals and the other is for departures.
