That is a good observation. In practice it would not extend to the x and y axis. The ideas behind a lot of microeconomics graphs is to help you understand the basic theory and concept.

Why does the isocost line extend all the way to the axis? Surely it is impossible to produce anything with only capital or labour. Shouldn't the isocost line stopt short of both the X & Y axis?
