I currently own one dressage horse. I sold the younger one that came from Holland after having an extremely bad accident on him. He is a horse that should only be ridden by a professional. I sold him and kept my other horse. It took over a year to heal and rehab so my trainer did the showing. Meanwhile, a good friend that also shows her dressage horse told me about Barbro and her Dressage Simulator. I decided I wanted to meet her and give it a try. That first step in the stirrup was frightening for me as it brought back the old memories of my accident. After 45 minutes riding *Dante* I regained confidence to ride that I thought I would never have again. I am going to ride Dante and regain my strength, stamina, and ability to become a good rider and already have a goal to show my horse in the late spring-fall. Does Dante compare to my horse, of course not, My horse loves me back. However, riding and practicing on Dante I will be able to ride my horse the way he was trained without getting him confused by mixed signals. Thanks Barbro

This is great balance training,you can train everything,legs,seat,rein connections and balance and you dont have to worry about disturbing your horse :) it would also be a grat balanse and training machine for the people who got MS ,and other deseases ans also for thoose who are afraid of horses,with this simulator they can get all the benefits from riding... every fysiotherapist needs to get one og theese-every ring sentre also..

while I agree we (by this I mean the commenters, if that is word) love the company of a real horse, but we should see every thing as a learning experience. Obviously this is a teaching simulator therefore, you take what you learn into the real world

It is for using alongside a real horse.. they are used for training and refining position..Badminton horse trials had one to test out. Most riders are ''one sided'' even the best ones. This shows up where strengths weaknesses lie. [I am stronger on left side from knee injury/arthritis on right, so right side needs working on to strengthen.

That's amazing! Looks fun. Does it have motions that feel like riding a real horse? This would be fun, not just lessons, but for arcade type gaming.....ohh the possibilities! This would be great for kids and rehabilitation for special needs and muscle building, body control and positioning!! Thanks for sharing! Don't pay attention to the negative feeds, what does Luke look like for flying changes....does he gallop? I use to ride horses, but now I'm wheelchair user, might be a great safe alternative to have that simulation feeling again.

When I was growing up we lived in the city. My parents told me I was born saying l wanted a horse. I use to cry daily because I so badly wanted a horse. To soothe myself I use to fantasize about having a mechanical horse which looked and felt just like a real horse. I would keep it in the garage next to dads car. Every morning I would turn it on and ride it to school where I would turn it off until after school when I would turn it back on and go for a long ride in thru the woods near my school. In my fantasy life everything was great except for the love and companionship a real life horse can give you. So yes this simulator is awesome but no simulator will ever give you the love which one can only get from the real thing. When I turned 16 I got my first real job, was given an old junk car that ran great and so I set out to find my destiny in the horse world. Today it is some 30 years later. I was floored when I came across these simulators. I have three real horses today but when I was learning to ride I bet if I would have had access to a simulator I would have had fewer bruises. LOL!

Why wouldn't you just use a real horse?
@Laneismynickname
@Laneismynickname 8 жыл бұрын
Because a real horse doesn't exactly show you how much you are leaning to one side. This isn't the best way to learn to ride a horse. But it can be a helpfull tool in knowing how much pressure you put on each side and if your seat is balanced in the center. (nobody will have a straight seat and equal pressure on both reigns when they didn't practise it. Because you know... we are all natural lefties or righties) A real horse will always compensate, so the pressure you give your horse may seem equal. But isn't always. And that doesn't help the horse to get straight and balanced.
