Sharon will present an introductory lecture on NaProTechnology (Natural Procreative Technology), which is the medical and surgical practice where a provider (physician, PA or NP) undergoes a unique training program to learn how to interpret “biomarkers” of a woman’s menstrual cycle in order to diagnose and treat many conditions seen in women’s health, such as: infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, polycystic ovarian syndrome, premenstrual syndrome, abnormal uterine bleeding, chronic pelvic pain, perimenopause, and many more.
The aim of this lecture will be to introduce the basic NaPro diagnostic work up, discuss biomarkers and what they mean and highlight a few protocols unique to NaPro, such as the follicular ultrasound series and the near-adhesion-free laparoscopy. Sharon will also briefly cover how to properly draw hormone panels and interpret them to effectively diagnose the different types of Luteal Phase deficiencies. A final aim of this presentation will be to demonstrate why NaPro Infertility treatments are superior to those used today in Assisted Reproductive Technology such as IUI (Intrauterine Insemination) and IVF (In-Vitro Fertilization).
