We get wild small flocks of doublebar finches near my house in Brisbane Australia. Love your aviary!

Great video. I used to keep gouldians and had three breeding pairs who at first rejected eggs then their young. Persevered as i had surrogate bengalese and zebra pairs but eventually unwillingly gave up my breeding project as children came along. But one day maybe. I look forward to watching other videos and whats in store. Very excited but they have to be top of the list for the most beautiful finches ever❤👍

Thank you. So nice to see your birds and they certainly look healthy. Tried gouldians once but had issues with the throat mite. Keep fire tails these days.

I breed Gouldian Finches and other birds. I live in Thailand, so the hot weather means they don't need a shed / shelter area, and they can live in the aviary all year round. The problem I sometimes get is snakes getting in and eating them...then the snakes are to fat to get out and I have to go in and catch them. Also we have really nasty stinging ants that can get into the nest and kill the baby birds.

I want to keep Finch sparrows along with the chicken in my aviary. Is this possible, specially when the finch chicks come out of the boxes.

Chickens will eat the finch.

what type of mesh is that? Stainless steel mesh or galvanised?

@@gouldianfinchesintheuk3221 is that safe to use on the birds? Everywhere I read it is saying to use stainless steel as galvanized steel has zinc which is toxic for the birds.

silverslingshot perfectly safe, commonly used in aviaries, never had any issues

@@gouldianfinchesintheuk3221 Interesting, I was just preparing my wife for the fact that we need to spend a lot more on the mesh as we need to buy stainless steel. We have 4 lovebirds, I just don't want something to happen to them as my kids will be devastated. I would as well.
