Just came by to say that this is a great start for me. I will be learning OD and I was just curious on the UX/UI designs. It is what I expected and it's very detail oriented. I like it. I know only basic iNews and it's going to feel different when using the Ross plugin.

I assume you'll pick it up as quickly as I did. I had a day or two of training, maybe 2 weeks before I had to go live. It's TV news - always run and gun :)

Nice track, but the Theme from Knight Rider has got that strong lyrical timing.

Are you familiar with ignite? If so could you give me some differences or advantages one might have over the other? I’m an old school director who was at a low market station for years where the board was from the 90’s but I’ve recently been hired in market 12 and they of course are on full automation. I’ve been here about a month and I already feel like I have Ignite down. My shows are mostly clean and when they’re not it’s usually not a directing issue, it’s like an equipment failure or producer error. Ross Overdrive seems a lot more complicated like there’s way more steps IMO whenever we have breaking news all I have to do is type a code, usually between 3 and 20 letters long, in the corresponding row in inews I hit a button that refreshes the board which takes about 5 seconds and I’m ready to take the new story. I’d say for an addition of a stinger to tight shot something simple from the moment the producer unfloats it until the moment I could take it, would take me 10-15 seconds and that’s like a maximum of 15. Could you make a change that fast in Overdrive? I’m sorry for the long ass message I’m not talking shit I’m genuinely curious I think it’s awesome that you’ve made these I’m subbing and watching them all probably multiple times so I can get out of here in a couple years and hopefully 🤞🏽 land in Chicago that’s my dream market and then I can say I know Ross Overdrive too!

Sorry for the delayed response: I was an "old school" director too, and I was the lead on the transition to Ross OverDrive. I was on OverDrive a day, and I swore I'd never go back 😀. Ross helped us build quick recalls on our shotbox. So when breaking news occurred, we would simply direct the ''old school' way off the shotbox or if we had a bit of time, recode. It was quick. In your stinger question, again, I'd hit one button on the shotbox and it'd be in the rundown. PLOT TWIST - I've changed jobs and now at a station with Ignite! But also taken a promotion, so I've never had to direct with the Ignite here. To me, Ignite looks more confusing than OverDrive.

The rundown is never final

ha ha! Nope. But at this university whom I made the video for -- when the producers called out 'the rundown is final' that was the signal that they'd renumbered all in iNews. Do you direct and have to code the rundown at your shop?

I'm a director in market 164 and we use vMix. Directing is done by one person and uses touch screen computer to control vMix. No idea why I'm watching this.

Can you use overdrive for interviews where you are switching between 2 box (host and gues)t and then guest with broll box?

Let me say first: I don't work for Ross. I don't sell OverDrive. But having used OverDrive for the last 4 years, I'm a convert. It is great; I'd never want to go back to manual directing. To answer your question: Yes, no problem. If you set up your shotbox correctly, live interviews are as easy to switch/direct as following a set coded rundown.

Usually a introduction is followed by more... i want more... can i pay you to train me??

Sorry for the late response, I'd assume your Ross dealer would offer that service. I don't work for Ross, I train directors - what set up do you have? iNews, ENPS, Opus? What is the graphics engine and video player system?
