THANK YOU!!! As an slp grad student your podcasts are so helpful. After listening to each of your topics I practice by imagining I’m talking to parents about what you discuss and I’ve seen my confidence grow in my clinical placements. I literally looked up this topic on the teach me to talk site two days ago for this exact topic, so thank you so much for your incredible timing! I love how you break everything down, talk about the research, and by the way, you are wonderful to listen to❤❤❤

Hi Laura. Thank you for your videos, I've learned so much. My daughter is 6 and is autistic. Her expressive language is stronger than her receptive language. How can I build on her receptive language please? She knows her colours, shapes, animals, letters, pretty good at labelling things but is very limited in following basic instructions. She understands body parts if you ask her and if I ask her to put something in the bin she can do it but cannot communicate with me. I feel stuck in how to engage with her. I am in the UK, is there any online courses I could do? Thank you.

I will... in the upcoming shows. I'm so excited about this series! Until then, here's a list of recommended toys broken down by age, but the lists from this series of podcasts will be more extensive: teachmetotalk.com/2022/12/01/best-toys-for-speech-therapy-for-toddlers-with-autism-and-language-delays/

Laura, you're amazing! Thank you again and I also have a question if you are familiar with Dr. Stanley Greenspan's work, where main thing of driving development is letting the child lead and never directing play or showing how to play. Child has to be challenged in appropriate amount to use their mind and come up with ideas.

I love Dr. Greenspan's relationship-based approach. However, the most current research says the best way to teach a toddler with developmental delays to play is with adult modeling and cueing to teach a child how to play with the toy. Great question! Thank you!

How do I get access to the handout? I don’t see where to pay first the course to get it. Maybe it is only accessible with a laptop?
