Please note:
1. In slide 12, the body diode of the MOSFET within the diode bridge is drawn incorrectly (upside down).
2. The hysteric control method (slide 28) also needs a feedback loop to overcome possible drifts of the capacitors midpoint voltage. See: www.pes-publications.ee.ethz....

Wow what a superinteressting circuit! But i had bever understand it without this explaination. (Yes i finally have a new phone. Or in fact its an older one that i especially bought so i again can leave comments here. Because i missed the last riddle that i found an especially nice one and not be able to leave comments that moment i saw that may not happen again. Because, where on the whole world you van find electronic riddles?! Ánd the most interesting deeper level explainations and really surprising insights! Btw, this big pointer makes your words even more clear than the red coloured pen in the video before this one. While that looked great i find this moving pointer almost as if i see where you look while explaining and i find that a really extra plus to understand everything more direct. As if we see your hands moving while talking, or something like that. Thank you, again and even extra for those last ones, thanks so much for making these superinteresting and supergood to follow videolessons!!

@@sambenyaakov unfortunately I can not post videos, I am not completely familiar with the vienna control, that is a big problem. I had studied the Vienna many many years ago but when it came to the control, the papers and media all end immediatly at that topic. I know that a kind of SVPWM can be applied, but how exactly was never tought. The are some phd thesis on that topic too, Those phd are all comming from the vienba inventor who I think is professor at ETH zürich, today. I find the Vienna super important, but knowbody ever wanted it in the passt, maybe due to the unknown control? that xan not be that hard, I think I will go vack into tgat topic.

Thanks for the Great Video, The question is why Bridgeless bipolar APFC, that is a single phase of Vienna rectifier, is not popular and not being used for single phase PFC? I appreciate your answer in advance.

Many thanks for the nice presentation and explanations. Please, on slide 24 it seems that transistors in BD Switch are driven together - one control signal, however in slide 25 there are two control signals Si+ and Si- ?

Why should the voltage on both the capacitors be kept equal? I understand that an imbalance on the voltage levels of the two capacitors causes an increase in the THD, but I don't understand how that happens?
@sambenyaakov
@sambenyaakov 2 жыл бұрын
If they are not equal but stable, this means the the current feeding each is equal. This means unbalanced power between + and -.

The diagram at 10:10 is wrong. You need to draw the body diode from emitter to collector. The way it is drawin now, current can very easily flow through the body diode of the IGBT while it is the "OFF" state.

Thanks. Yes, the body diode is wrongly drawn. Just checking your alertness😊Nobody have noticed, it even not Prof. Kolar, the invertor of the Vienna Rectifier. 👏👍
