Piita was kind enough to chat to us while onboard the Akademik Sergey Vavilov in the Candadian Arctic, providing insight into Inuit history, traditions and community.

Inuit seem to be Asians... I Love their resilience and tenacity in having created over generations a society and culture that stands on its own.

Inuit culture has been around for 4000 years. They are older than the Celts, Vikings, Anglo-Saxons, or ancient classical Greece. They descended from Siberian migrants, but they are of the land that they inhabit. They are indeed resilient.
