This is at least ONE of my favorite third age battles :D The setting and Gondorian units like the Haven Knights and the Harad units like the Chosen make it just that :DDDDDD Great as ever, Apollo!

5:10 silvan elves sold some armor to dol amroth, that had to be very expensive...

Umbar elite tier units have a huge morale because of their hatred for GONDOR and when they face them they will never run away, they will fight to the last!

Well now I'm hyped.... I love Divide and Conquer and it's units are by far and away the most amazing I've seen for third age. Dol Amroth alone is an amazing achievment yet alone the Beornings and the rest.... gimme some of the trolls of the white hand for multiplayer and fear my powah! Synn and Kuro thanks for all the work you've done and are still to do! Can't wait to try the mod.

This was so much fun xD, got 4000 kills, could have done better if all of my units were campin the hill, but i just didnt want to be that kind of player :D, and it looked cool too, the town defence :p Btw, there was capture points, one was the ruins, and one was the palace ;)

That Gondor general's cav charge did more damage than I think they would do in vanilla Third Age. As a matter of fact, I saw another Reforged battle on Indypride's channel where cavalry just WRECKED infantry on the charge, like in normal Medieval II. I like infantry more than cavalry, so it breaks my heart! But at the same time, a lotta people love that cav too, so this mod definitely appeals to a large group.

Thanks for all the cool videos. I was watching the history of Middle Earth and I remember watching a lot of your battles with historical context you made and it just made watching all that history awesome!

If this was an actual battle (number wise) in either fiction or reality: this would have been regarded as a bloody, Phyrric victory at best, in my opinion. Just wow.

Something I've missed seeing in Warhammer, these long, drawn out, and epic battles. You could still get pretty long & epic battles in Rome 2 & Attila, but Third Age seemed to have some of the longest battles in multiplayer.

I am a simple man. I see new units, I press like. Now I hope that the battle I'm about to watch stands for such a teaser.

Just for a fun little fanfic to add to the role play to this battle. It is the year 2983 of the third age, the Haradrim many decades ago have take the island of Tofolas, a strategic positioning the coast of Gondor near Dol Amroth. The Haradrim have been using the aid from the Corsairs of Umbar as they raid the many costal villages of Gondor. In the last few year the Haradrim have sent many thousands of troops preparing for an invasion into Gondor, hoping to take the very rich and strategic city of Dol Amroth, however thanks to the many spies in the aid of Gondor, the Gondorian have learned of this foul plan. The ruling prince of Dol Amroth, prince Adrhill request military assistance from the late Ecthelion II, the Steward of Gondor. Upon the request Ecthelion gathers an army from Minas Tirith, Cair Andros, and finds a suitable General from Heneath Annun to lead the Gondorian force. The Gondorians march to Plegir to receive further troops and take ships to meet with their Allies. Prince Adhrill calls upon his son, Imrahill to gather a large force from the surrounding regions and prepare to leave. It is now early in the year 2984, Ecthelion II has passed his reign down to Denethor who still holds true to his father words of support. The men of Gondor and Dol Amroth arrive on the shores of Tofolas, expecting to meet their foes at the beach, with not a man in sight they march on into the heart of the Island towards a small town. They learn from their spies of the massive force, and the quality of the many companies of the Haradrim. The attacking force consolidate together and plan to attack as one then rather split up their forces. The battle is sparked at a small town center where few Haradrim companies hold the large Gondorian army in an effort to buy time for the preparation of their main force. The Gondorians pushing into the tight and well guarded positions but, through sheer man power and out maneuvering the Gondorians manage to break through and push onwards to the first army. Once more they are met in the larger part of the town, fighting in the streets as many soldiers of Dol Amroth push and rid of the few companies trying to hold back the sea of Blue and Silver. The Gondorians push now to the hill where the first army is holding their defense with many pikes and arrows. Fighting bravely the Haradrim army gives no easy ground to the Gondorians and fight for every inch of the hill, but for every Swan they kill, five more charge into avenge their brother. Not long after their forces is destroyed with not a single soldier left alive. The Gondorians, now beginning to feel tired prepare for their greatest challenge yet. Imrahill takes his forces and pushes to the two strategic bridges, hoping to find another way to outflank his foe, he realizes to his horror their is none, and that his men will have to cross the long narrow bridge, and avoid the cloud of arrows, and the infernos raining from high ground, to then only meet a wall of red and black. Despite the depressing look of their situation the brave men charge forward, two companies from Gondor sent early to make a great sacrifice in trying to waste the many arrows of the Haradrim. This is shortly followed by the army pushing forward across the bridge, one of the infantry soldiers who was wounded said this in describing the charge. “ Prince Imrahill gave us the order to charge across the bridge, our company had already fought many tough engagements and we were less than two third in our unit... crossing the bridge was a nightmare come to life. Your brothers who you trained with were so easily dropped by the countless arrow, and more horrifying was the scream of men being burned to a crisp like a sword in a forge. It was truly a crossing into hell.” The rest of the Gondorians managed to push to the Haradrim where they were stationed for their last stand. With the soldiers placed on a hill and in a choke point, the men of Gondor would have to fight them for every solider. Imrahill would later take his company of knights to silence the archers shorting into the backs of his men from the right flank. This would prove greatly to their favor as more soldiers entered to the sheer chaos that was the battle raging below. And for a long time the men from both sides fought bravely. With the ring of swords clashing, and the thuds of arrows piercing and the ear piercing creaking of the catapults launching both armies fought each other for every man that they had. Eventually the soldiers of Gondor and the Haradrim were all spent many of their brother laid before feet where the battle enticed on. Imrahill now having lost his army and personal body guard kept charging hoping to kill any foe he could. Matters were made worse when the Ithilien ranger captain fell, but rather than flee his men held their ground and fought. It was this saving grace of not letting go that allowed the armies of Gondor to take victory. While the battle was won for the Gondorians it was not with out consequences. Their army was to small to make a counter offensive and many of their men were wounded and needed desperate medical attention. Their victory would prove fruitless many years later when the Haradrim reclaimed the island in preparation for the war of the Ring. Sorry I know that was long but I thought it would be fun to add to the battle, giving a bit of story puts a bit more at stake for me. If you read it I hope you enjoy.

That bridge f*ed all the attackers =[ and so no maneuver against the defenders on that final shock point. That unit "spear shield wall" can hold a LOT, its OP considering in the beginning they just hold the ground by itself hammered in front and behind. Totally OP. And took so much time to silence that archers shooting on bridge. And attackers don't use much of catapult, a big mistake.

and with an occupying force of two horsemen and some rangers...

the dark lord, approves of these units. And I drool with anticipation.

castamir was related to the king of gondor and he led a civil war to take the throne and did hold it for a few years before his cousin retook the throne but castmir fled to umbar and made it a refuge that was meant as a refuge for enemies of gondor
