1802. Humphry Davy
a British chemist
and inventor who created
the Davy lamp and a very early
design of arc lamp. He also isolated, by using electricity,
an array of elements for the first time, potassium and sodium
in 1807 and calcium, strontium, barium, magnesium and
boron the following year. as well as for discovering
the elemental nature of chlorine and iodine. He also studied
the forces involved in these dissolutions, inventing the new
study of electrochemistry. He is also given credit for being
the first to discover clathrate hydrates in his lab.
In 1804 Richard Trevithick the world's first locomotive-hauled railway
is created .Richard Trevithick was a British mining
engineer and inventor .His most important and significant contributions
were the first high-pressure steam
engine and the first in the world working railway steam
locomotive. The first steam locomotive-hauled
railway journey took place on February 1804, when
his unnamed steam locomotive carried a train along
the track at an ironworks in Wales
Another of the inventors who changed the world are William Aspdin.
He invented Portland Cement in 1824.This substance is used in buildings all over
the world and is used as some for or another in concrete and mortar.
Another of the great inventions that is used world wide to this present day
is Linoleum or often know by its shortened name of Lino.
This was created by the the British inventor Frederick Walton in 1855.
The Lino product was itself patented in 1863.Walton also invented Lincrusta ,
a deeply embossed wallcovering.
Lino is still in use to this day and was a tough practical floor covering used
in the 19th and 20th century in Kitchens and hallways and bathrooms.
