I was there 6 weeks ago and last year May. A lot of work has been done in this time and I could tell from the beginning that limited or no access to certain parts of the beach would happen. I am from St David, living just up the road from La Sagesse, but live in the UK. For £50,000 a night the people who stay there will have big demands and say on how things are done around this area. I hope that the people of Grenada can benifit from this, but because this will be a self contained resort, it may be a trickle down effect. Sometimes it feels like we are giving away our beautiful island, bit by bit. Keep documenting, nice video.

This was what most of the locals we spoke to were also hoping for, a trickle down effect into the local economy. However if the government cannot control its greed & short-sightedness with projects like this then it is unlikely that the people of St Davids will benefit from this. This breaks our hearts because more separation is the last thing we need right now. We MUST stick together. Thank you for your opinion!

They can build wherever they want but they can never build on our beaches as they do in Jamaica and tell us we cannot use our beaches else the hotels shall come down.

Oh stop it there already done it they've cut of parts of Grand anse and that land in lasagne part of it belongs to my family and the yt mam put a big block up to stop us accessing our only route we can't get a car through it now. And the ministry ain't done shit

@@ukbusiness8811 they cut of part but did they stop you from bathing on the beach? The beach belongs to we Grenadians. You can pass through the hotel and go on the beach if it is not accessible to you.

Both are good points. Exceptions have been made for some hotels, despite the fact that the government has promised that no beach will become inaccessible to the locals. Unfortunately, money seems to be more important than community to those with power.

The construction WILL NOT STOP turtles nesting on the beach. Please double check your information. The facility is also providing 750 jobs and thats apart from 1000+ it created in the construction phase and has been done along with an Environmental Impact Assessment. The company is also working it farmers and fishermen. Additionally as per our laws locals have access to any and ALL beaches on these islands so beach access is a must. Stop assuming stuff and get the facts from those who know please.

Respectfully, we are only aware of turtles currently nesting on Levera beach. However, regardless of the jobs the hotel has & will create, our point is about the overall impact this hotel brings to the local community of St Davids in the long-term in comparison with the profit the company will generate. Its great to know they are working with local farmers and fisherman, I hope the farmers with the best practices on the island are selected as suppliers (we will have a video about one coming soon) and in turn this motivates others to review their practices and follow suit, improving the agricultural sector as a whole. Would you be able to point me to where I can review this Environmental Impact Assessment please? We would like to dive into exactly what and how it was scored. In regard to the beaches, we tried to visit the beach where Sandals is and were denied entry without buying a visitors pass for over $100 US! We also tried to visit the beach inside of the Sixth Sense resort and were told it was only customers were allowed to pass a certain point. So unfortunately, our experience was that not all beaches are accessible. However, we thank you for taking the time to be a part of the debate. Conversations like this is exactly what we wanted to promote.

They destroyed the most serene area and nature preserve on Grenada. They have even changed the weather by what they have destroyed. Those of us who experienced the REAL LA SAGESSE WEEP for the destruction of the Mangoves the salt pond and the serenity.
