Nah the mod doesn't sexualize her, it removes censorship. The original game had her panties in it for ps2, they just censored it when they ported the game for modern consoles. So the point is authenticity and taking games as a product of their time. I heard people get mad over that Fire Emblem + SMT game's localization because they took out cleavage shots and scenes depicting gravure modeling. Like, the localized designs of the characters are sometimes BETTER than the ones with cleavage, but people still somehow made controversy over it. Guys like the modders here are just losers that think that everything needs to cowtow to them.

I have a slightly more nuanced take on it, which is removing those elements from the art book, which is supposed to be concept art and other things representing the product that was in development. The existence of those things in the art book does not impact the final game imo, in fact removing them feels like whitewashing, but I'm probably internet poisoned and am totally open to being wrong.

@@BinaryHedgehog1 there was room for a nuanced conversation about whether every change was necessary or done correctly, but they were all immediately coopted by the bad faith actors crying about "woke censorship." I would argue that some changes like the removal of all imagery and references to Big Band being beaten by cops could have been handled better but I understand why they chose to implement those changes the way they did. I think the fact the game's art is all hand drawn is a big reason why some of the changes were more scuffed than others. Even so, the game is still being worked on and the developers could very well fix these smaller issues in the future.

The translations on a number of the S supports are pretty weird last i checked. I don't know if that would technically count as censorship, but it seems like a decent number of characters dance around words like love/marriage. Despite those words being commonly used in previous games. I may be a little conspiratorial here, but didn't they do the same thing to Edelgard in three houses, avoiding explicit mentions of the words love/marriage on BI characters. Feel free to correct me if i'm wrong. I would love to be wrong cause i love Fire Emblem.

Oh and context on the Fire Emblem Engage mod: the original Japanese Script for Fire Emblem Engage has the main character Alear (who is 1,017 years old) being able to have explicitly romantic interest in and flirtatious conversations with Anna and Jean, who are 11 years old and 10 years old respectively. This was obviously removed in the localisation which has Alear acting very much as an adoptive older sibling to these characters rather than a romantic interest. This made a lot of Very Normal People(TM) very angry because they couldn't romance the children anymore. The localization also made the character of Goldmary less sexualized and rewrote Louis to not be a sex pest, so as you can imagine, these kinds of guy didn't like that either.

I have a theory that they use their bigotry in the place of a hobby. They tie it to not only their identity, but what they enjoy doing.

I mean, the biggest thing that jumps out to me with these mods is that basically none of them seem to be about being funny. Maybe, and big maybe, the trump one is. The rest are dead serious, mostly shaving things off instead of adding anything, which tells you a lot about the community that made or collected these mods together.

If after the first install, ideally from GOG or a disc, I can play without DRM hogging my system to make sure I own the thing, it's mine. Besides, mods are most popular for games that aren't online or as a service, with the updates that break them being much less common.
