When I was that age, having a boyfriend meant talking on the phone and hanging out at school together, maybe the park. Sounds like Jocelyn was a very typical 12 year old. A kind lady saw me out at the Taco John’s, when I was a kid, and she drove me home. She worked there, and wanted to make sure I got home safe. We have to do this, because predators do it, too. A group of men offered to walk me to my car, once, as an adult, but I got a bad feeling. I found out they did that to someone who accepted, and robbed her. People probably say they will walk with kids and keep them safe, and do worse.
