Army veteran Dynell Lane called police for help but was ridiculed after urinating himself due to a medical condition. The investigation is being delayed further.

It shouldn’t even matter if he is disabled. I’ve been denied use of a bathroom as well and luckily I was close to home but what if there was no other bathroom nearby? I don’t understand how humans can be so cruel to one another!

Since none of them have any vice accept the socially accepted cigarettes and usually hard liquor ; I think it gives most cops a superiority complex on top of being “ the law “ and what not so there just completely out of touch with anything else other than what the automatic negative assumption of any given situation would be ; like in this case either it the bathroom was out of order or they just didn’t want any non paying customers to use it because of drug use and high crime in deep elem but either way a little compassion and understanding would’ve gone a long way

Officers' names that did that were Officers James Smith and Juan Figueroa Luna. Be sure to share those names when this story is addressed, they seem to always omit it.

Discussed with the Dallas police chief Eddie Garcia regards to his no response and non action on this matter. In the past he has given the appearance of concern for victims this veteran was victimized by his police officers.

Since the Dallas PD seemingly has no time to resolve this issue, the disabled American Vet should file a major, and massive lawsuit against them, this is cruel, dehumanizing, and a federal crime, being he is disabled, and a War Veteran. All these ignorant cops should be Fired, and sued. The fact that this mans issue was the the source of their enjoyment, how ignorant and childish .😢😢😢 Dallas Texas, you have a serious problem with your police department.

As a wartime military retiree, I suffer (among many) a similar disability having "gone the gauntlet" with flight attendants, airport officials, etc. over the seconds-notice need for a toilet. I carry documentation to that effect in the glove boxes of all my vehicles and in my travel folder when flying. I feel his pain and frustration!

I know the hiring process is stringent. Everything written down is to be true. Then comes the training. And at last you take the oath. If you can not act professionally in an environment where you are held to a higher standard, quality- supreme. Then you have NO business in holding a position in law enforcement.

Police officers along with regular American citizens can thank active and veteran military service members for the safety we provide(d) them against foreign aggressors from taking over America destroying everyone's way of life, including civilian police officers. As a former civilian LEO and Marine veteran, sometimes I have no idea what LEOs in the community think military service members do for the country. These Dallas clowns clearly do not know. I guarantee you, there are LEOs who do know, appreciate and respect military service members and veterans, and think these particular officers and those like them are disgusting and undeserving of the respect they want from others. I am curious what Dallas LEOs who are veterans think about this.

My heart broke when i saw this . This is wrong on so many levels . There should be some sort of clause that allows discipling of officers for inappropriate behavior , even when there is no statute covering said specific behavior . Everytime those officers look in the mirror they will have to live with the fact that they will never be the hero that veteran is . The real crime is that those officers are still on the force . He protected , he served , they didnt . Kind of puzzled as to why the pizza staff didnt step in on his behalf . Just saying

The two officers aren't being paid by tax payers nor are they on duty, sometimes departments encourage officers to do extra duty the business establishment pays the officers to act within a security capacity.

As a combat disabled veteran myself, I have a few questions which the press seems to ignore: - Is this a verified disabled veteran? - Was this "veteran" a habitual nuisance to the business? - Are there any other civil lawsuits/complaints by this "veteran?" I say this as I have severe IBS. I don't expect every business to cater to my medical needs. Moreover, any medical condition does not mandate that a business cater to your every need. Additionally, while DPD may come across as cruel and insensitive I pose this question to you: If someone that you do not know comes to your front door and demands to use your bathroom because of a "medical condition" would you allow them?....Yeah, that's what I thought.

Asking politely to use a toilet normally works mate. It does in the UK. Denying someone a function that is natural is ultra poor form.

you can't use a private toilet just because you have an emergency. I myself have been in such an embarrassment many times and what did I do, I ordered a coffee and went to the toilet. That's how it goes, you can't just do it for free
