It wasn't the dad, it was a random serial killer that saw the kids running through the sprinklers in their backyard, from the freeway. He watched the house with binoculars and entered the house. He killed the couple and her older son and kidnapped Dylan and Shasta. The SK killed Dylan finally and Shasta was spotted in a Dennys restaurant in CDA, ID and Shasta was rescued and the killer was arrested. It's a scary horrible true crime.
